Verdict: The Anko LD-T7021B offers unusually good capacity and controls for a budget toaster: four slots, two independently started sections, six browning levels, and dedicated defrost, reheat and cancel buttons. Kmart Australia listed it at $39 in a 2026 product capture. That makes it attractive for households that regularly toast several slices at once. The reservation is evidence, not the feature list: ProductReview.com.au shows only three reviews, averaging 3.6/5, including one report of an outside section failing. Buy it for capacity and price if you accept uncertain long-term reliability; choose a toaster with stronger independent testing or a clearly documented longer warranty if dependability is your priority.
What the Anko LD-T7021B is
The LD-T7021B is a four-slice stainless-steel toaster built as a main chassis and a sub-chassis. Each section has its own push-down/start lever, so you can run one pair without heating the other. The manual specifies the operating pattern: use the main chassis for one or two slices, and use both chassis sections for three or four slices.
This arrangement matters more than the four-slice label alone. A conventional four-slot toaster may energise all slots together, while the Anko lets you toast a small breakfast without powering an unused pair. When everyone is eating at once, both sections can be started for four slices. The manual also provides separate indicator lights for the operating buttons, making it clear when a defrost or reheat cycle has been selected.

Published specifications and price
| Specification | Published detail | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity | Four slices | Main and sub-chassis sections; one or two slices use the main section, while three or four use both, according to the manual. |
| Dimensions | 28.5 cm high × 26 cm wide × 18.6 cm deep | Figures from Kmart Australia’s 4 Slice Stainless Steel Toaster listing captured in 2026. |
| Construction | Stainless steel | As described in the Kmart listing. |
| Electrical rating on category listing | 220–240 V; 1,350–1,500 W | Figures from the current Kmart Australia category listing captured in 2026. |
| Electrical rating in the LD-T7021B manual | 220–240 V; 50–60 Hz; 1,500–1,800 W | Exact-model technical-data panel; keep this separate from the category listing’s wattage range. |
| Browning control | Six positions | The manual recommends level 3–4 for medium-golden toast. |
| Programs | Cancel, reheat and defrost | Each has an indicator light. |
| Crumb collection | Slide-out crumb tray | The manual says to operate the toaster with the tray fitted and to empty it at least weekly with frequent use. |
| Listed price | $39 | Kmart Australia price captured in 2026; price and stock can change. |
| Owner rating | 3.6/5 from three reviews | ProductReview.com.au capture from 2026; this is a very small, non-laboratory sample. |
The two wattage figures should not be merged into one supposedly definitive number. The 1,500–1,800 W value is the LD-T7021B manual’s own technical-data figure, while 1,350–1,500 W appears on Kmart’s current category listing. If electrical load matters in your kitchen, read the rating plate on the specific unit and follow the manual supplied with it rather than relying on a generic listing.

Controls and everyday operation
Choosing a browning level
The selector has six positions. Start at level 3 or 4 for medium-golden toast, as the manual recommends, then adjust for your bread, moisture and preferred colour. A single slice generally needs a lower setting than two slices. That instruction is important because one slice receives heat from an otherwise empty neighbouring slot and can darken faster.
Allow at least 30 seconds between cycles. The manual says this gives the browning control time to reset; starting another cycle immediately can produce a different result from the same numbered setting. For repeatable breakfasts, use the same bread thickness, load the same number of slices and keep the pause between batches consistent.
Toast one or two slices
- Place one or two slices in the main-chassis slots.
- Set the browning selector, beginning at 3–4 for a medium-golden result.
- Press the main section’s lever down until it latches.
- Leave the cycle to finish, or press CANCEL if you want to stop early.
- Wait at least 30 seconds before starting another cycle.
Toast three or four slices
- Load the main and sub-chassis sections evenly.
- Set the browning selectors to comparable positions if you want matching colour.
- Press both section levers down to start both pairs.
- Use CANCEL on the relevant section if one pair is ready first or begins to brown too quickly.
The manual’s separate sections make mixed schedules possible: for example, you can start two slices first and activate the second pair when another person is ready. The documentation does not provide a measured time difference between the two sections, so treat the first few cycles as calibration rather than assuming both pairs finish simultaneously.
Frozen bread
For bread taken directly from the freezer, load the slices, choose the desired browning level and press DEFROST after lowering the lever. The defrost indicator should illuminate. Frozen bread contains more surface moisture and may need a different setting from fresh bread; adjust after observing the result rather than increasing the level automatically.

Reheating already toasted bread
Use REHEAT for toast that has cooled and needs warming without a full browning cycle. Select reheat after lowering the lever and watch the first use so you know how warm your bread becomes. Reheat is intended for plain toast, not for food spread with ingredients that can melt or run into the slots.
Stopping smoke or a cycle early
Press CANCEL if smoke starts or if the bread is browning too fast. Do not leave the toaster to complete a smoking cycle unattended. If smoke continues, disconnect the plug and allow the appliance to cool before investigating crumbs or a trapped item.
Does it toast evenly?
There is no published laboratory test establishing the LD-T7021B’s browning uniformity. The manual gives operating guidance—level 3–4 for medium toast, a lower setting for one slice than two, and a 30-second reset interval—but those instructions are not a performance measurement.
Owner evidence is also limited. ProductReview.com.au records a 3.6/5 average from three reviews. Positive comments describe quick toasting and successful use with both frozen and fresh bread. One owner says the slots accommodate crumpets, muffins and larger bread, which suggests useful opening length or width in practice, but no slot dimensions or independent fit test are published. Because three reviews cannot establish a reliability rate or consistent colour across bread types, treat these comments as individual experiences rather than proof that every batch will brown evenly.

For the most consistent results, keep the number of slices constant, use the same selector position, respect the 30-second interval and calibrate separately for single-slice and two-slice loads. Thick artisan slices, high-moisture bread and crumpets can require different settings from thin sandwich bread. The toaster’s six-position control gives you adjustment range, but the available evidence does not show how closely the two sections match each other.
Capacity and foods it can accommodate
Four-slice throughput is the LD-T7021B’s clearest practical advantage. A household can prepare four slices in one round, while the split chassis avoids heating the second pair when only one or two people need toast. Owners have specifically mentioned crumpets, muffins and larger bread fitting the slots. The manual does not publish slot width or length, so unusually thick, oversized or irregular pieces should be inserted only if they move freely and do not touch the heating elements.
Do not put foods with runny ingredients into the slots. The manual specifically warns against items such as bread carrying butter or jam while they are liable to melt or drip. Toast the plain bread first, then add spreads on a plate. This reduces the chance of residue reaching the heater area and makes cleaning safer.

- Unplug the toaster and let it cool completely.
- Pull out the slide-out crumb tray.
- Empty crumbs into a bin. With frequent use, do this at least once a week.
- Clean the tray as appropriate for its finish, then dry it fully before refitting.
- Replace the tray before operating the toaster again.
The manual says not to operate the appliance without the crumb tray. It also requires the toaster to be unplugged before cleaning and warns against immersing the appliance in liquid. Keep the exterior dry and use only a method that does not push debris deeper into the slots. Regular tray emptying is both a cleanliness task and a safety precaution: accumulated crumbs can smoke during a later cycle.

Safety and jammed bread
Never leave the toaster unattended while it operates. The manual’s wording is direct: “Never let the toaster operate unattended.” Keep the appliance on a stable, dry surface with clearance around it, and do not place anything over the slots while it is hot.
If bread becomes stuck, do not reach into the slots with a knife, fork or other object. The manual states: “Never attempt to remove bread jammed in the slots without unplugging the toaster from the mains electrical power outlet first.” Disconnect the plug, wait for the toaster to cool, and only then deal with the obstruction. If the bread cannot be removed without force, stop and seek service rather than risking damage or electric shock.
Size, power and counter planning
At 28.5 cm high, 26 cm wide and 18.6 cm deep, the toaster occupies a moderate but noticeable section of counter. Measure the intended space with the lever clearance and cable route included; the published depth is the appliance body’s figure, not a guarantee that a particular setup will fit flush against a wall.

The listing specifies 220–240 V, matching Australian household supply, while the manual gives 220–240 V at 50–60 Hz. The manual’s 1,500–1,800 W figure indicates a substantial load for a small appliance, and the category listing’s 1,350–1,500 W range adds uncertainty about which listing variant or measurement applies. Use the rating plate on your purchased unit when checking a power board or circuit, and avoid sharing an overloaded extension arrangement.

Reliability evidence and what the rating means
A 3.6/5 score from three ProductReview.com.au reviews is a signal, not a durability study. Positive reports mention fast operation, broad food compatibility and easy crumb-tray cleaning. A later review says the outside elements stopped working and that the toaster was to be returned. That failure report is relevant when assessing risk, but three reviews are too few to calculate a failure percentage, average service life or a representative owner satisfaction rate.
The available material does not establish a documented warranty term. Check the current Kmart Australia listing, receipt and product documentation for the applicable warranty and return conditions before purchase, especially if the price difference between this toaster and a better-documented model is small.
Who should buy it?
It makes sense when
- You regularly need three or four slices at once.
- You want two separately started pairs rather than an all-slots-at-once design.
- Defrost, reheat and cancel buttons are useful to your routine.
- A $39 listed price in the 2026 Kmart Australia capture fits your budget.
- You are comfortable calibrating browning for different breads and accepting limited reliability evidence.
Look elsewhere when
- Long-term service life is more important than the lowest upfront price.
- You need independently measured browning consistency or published slot dimensions.
- You require a clearly stated, longer warranty before committing.
- Your counter has little room for a 26 cm-wide, 28.5 cm-high appliance.
- Your electrical setup cannot comfortably accommodate the unit’s stated load.
How to compare it with another four-slice toaster
Use the same questions for every candidate instead of comparing headline slot count alone:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- Throughput: Can all four slots run together, and can unused pairs be left off?
- Control: Are the two pairs independently controlled, with separate browning settings or only separate levers?
- Food fit: Are slot width and length published, and do user reports address crumpets, muffins or larger bread?
- Programs: Are defrost, reheat and cancel available, and are their indicators easy to read?
- Consistency: Is there independent testing rather than only a small number of owner comments?
- Cleaning: Does each section have an accessible crumb tray, and can the trays be removed without moving the appliance?
- Footprint and power: Do the measured dimensions and rating suit your counter and circuit?
- After-sales cover: Is the warranty period and return process stated clearly?
- Total cost: Is the price difference justified by stronger evidence or coverage, not just a cosmetic finish?
Pros and cons
Pros
- Four-slice capacity in a split main/sub-chassis design.
- Separate start levers for one, two, three or four-slice use.
- Six browning positions with defrost, reheat and cancel controls.
- Stainless-steel construction and a slide-out crumb tray.
- Listed at $39 in Kmart Australia’s 2026 capture.
- Owner comments mention quick toasting and room for crumpets, muffins and larger bread.
Cons
- Only three owner reviews are available, so reliability and evenness remain uncertain.
- A later review reports that the outside elements stopped working.
- The category listing and exact-model manual show different wattage ranges.
- Published material does not provide slot dimensions, measured browning results or a documented warranty term.
- The 26 cm width and potentially high electrical load may not suit every counter or circuit.
Bottom line
The Anko LD-T7021B is a credible budget choice when four-slice capacity and flexible controls matter most. Its paper specification is strong for the price, and the split chassis is more useful than a simple four-slot count because it lets you run only the pair you need. Set expectations correctly: the evidence for even browning and service life is thin, and one of the three available owner reports describes a section failure. Buy from a seller with a clear return path, verify the rating label and current price, and choose a better-documented model if reliability evidence outweighs upfront savings.
