CHOICE lists a 1kg kettle, a 73cm cord and a 15cm footprint. Measure the bench area rather than relying on the capacity figure alone. Keep the base and cord away from sink splashes, hot burners and the edge of the bench. The 73cm cable may require a nearby outlet, particularly where the kettle is used beside a deep countertop or under cabinets.
Does it switch off automatically?

6. Separate published facts from anecdote
Use specifications for capacity, power and included functions. Use owner reviews to identify possible failure modes and usability complaints, but do not convert a review score into a predicted lifespan or a controlled performance result.
