The Anker Nano 45W Smart Display Charger (A121D) is a compact, single-port USB-C charger whose small display adds live charging information—and, on certain recent Apple devices, model and battery details. It is most appealing if you value that feedback and a foldable plug; its one port, 45W ceiling and lack of an included cable make it a less compelling all-purpose charger for buyers who want to power several devices or need more output.
What the Anker Nano 45W Smart Display Charger does
Model A121D has one USB-C port and a maximum rated output of 45W. Anker lists fixed output profiles of 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 15V/3A and 20V/2.25A, plus support for up to 3A PPS. It does not support 5A PPS, so check your device’s charging requirements if it depends on that protocol. The wattage shown on the display is not a guaranteed rate: the device’s power management controls what it draws, and charging can vary with temperature, battery level and use.
The charger measures 34 × 35.5 × 40 mm, weighs 75 g and has a foldable plug that Anker describes as rotating 180 degrees. Its screen offers more than 20 interfaces, with information such as power, temperature, charging mode or status, and animations. Anker says the screen is not touch-operated.
What the display shows—and which devices get battery details
Live charging readouts are different from identifying the connected device or showing its battery progress. Anker’s EU listing says model and battery display support covers the iPhone 15, 16 and 17 series, with the iPhone 17e excluded on that page, and iPad 10th generation or later. It says Samsung and Pixel phones do not receive that identification feature, though charging still works normally.

Older Lightning iPhones can still fast-charge, but Anker says their battery percentage and model may not appear because the real-time percentage feature relies on USB-C communication protocols. In short, a missing battery level does not by itself mean the charger is failing. Confirm the current compatibility details in Anker’s product listing and its support FAQ.
Compatibility can also affect charging speed. Anker says selected Galaxy S23+/S23 Ultra and S24+/S24 Ultra models are limited to 27W maximum with this charger, while the Galaxy S25 series supports full-speed fast charging. Those are vendor-specific statements for the listed models, not a rule for every Samsung phone.

What an independent hands-on review found
In a review published on July 30, 2026, Cadena SER reported seeing live wattage as well as voltage, current and temperature on the display, and found those readings practically useful. The reviewer also praised the foldable plug for awkward outlets and travel, but wished the charger had a second USB-C port and came with a cable. The review judged 45W adequate for many phones, tablets and light laptops, while noting that it falls short of very high-wattage phone charging. What comes in the box
Anker lists the charger only; a charging cable is not included. For a newer USB-C iPhone or Android device, Anker recommends a USB-C-to-USB-C cable. For an iPhone 14 or older with a Lightning connector, it recommends USB-C-to-Lightning. If you do not already own the right cable, include its cost in the total before comparing chargers.

How Anker’s performance claims should be read
Anker makes several temperature and size comparisons on its product page, but these are manufacturer claims rather than independent A121D test results:
- Anker says Care Mode keeps the charger “20°C cooler” than international safety limits; the product page does not date this claim.
- Anker says the device battery was “5°C cooler” than with other 45W chargers in its internal lab test of a full 0–100% charge at 25°C. This is Anker’s test result, not independent validation.
- Anker says the charger is “47% smaller and 20% lighter” than a standard 30W charger. The cited product-page comparison does not identify the comparison model.
No independent controlled performance statistic for A121D is established here. A laboratory report sometimes surfaced in searches identifies A2693/B2693, not A121D, so its measurements should not be attributed to this charger.

Is the A121D worth buying?
It is a good fit if you want a small travel charger, mainly charge one device at a time, and will use the screen’s live readouts or its supported-device battery information. The display is a useful extra rather than a universal battery monitor: its richer identification feature is limited by device compatibility.
Look elsewhere if you routinely charge multiple devices from one adapter, need more than 45W, require 5A PPS, or expect a cable in the box. Anker’s comparison listing includes a standard Nano 45W without the smart display and multi-port or higher-output models; those are sensible categories to compare if you prioritize simpler charging, more ports or output headroom. Compare the specific model’s protocol support and accessories rather than assuming equivalent performance. Price is a moving target. Anker’s EU page showed €42.99 when accessed on October 3, 2026, while Cadena SER cited €33.99 in its July 30, 2026 review. Those are snapshots from different dates and contexts, not a like-for-like price guarantee; check the live listing in your region.
