If an anime game code fails, first check whether it has expired or was already redeemed, then verify the spelling, game account, server or region, and the official redemption method for your game and device. After a success message, look in the correct account’s mail or inventory. Redemption rules differ by game, so use these checks alongside the publisher’s current instructions.
Start with the error and the code’s source
Confirm which game issued the code and what kind it is: an in-game reward or promotional code, a retail code, or a platform gift code. These are not interchangeable, and their redemption pages and restrictions can differ. Use the game publisher’s official announcement or support page to confirm the code’s end date and instructions; codes may be available only for a limited time, and their status can change.

For example, HoYoverse’s invalid or already-used code guidance covers its own redemption errors, not every anime game. Roblox likewise notes that promo codes are often available only for a limited time in its promo-code instructions.
Fix an expired or invalid code
Check the expiration window
Find the original announcement for the exact code and check whether it lists an end date, time, or eligibility period. A code that has expired cannot usually be made usable by trying another device or re-entering it. Do not rely on an old list of active codes: availability can change after publication.

Re-enter the code exactly
Copy it from the official source if possible, or carefully compare every character. Watch for look-alikes such as zero and the letter O, and preserve uppercase and lowercase where the game treats them differently. HoYoverse specifically advises checking case sensitivity and common character mix-ups; Roblox also directs players to enter promo codes accurately.
Confirm the game, account, and region
- Make sure the code was issued for the game you are playing.
- Check that you are signed in to the account where you want the reward.
- If the game uses servers or regions, confirm the code is valid for the selected one. HoYoverse lists matching the server region—Asia, Europe, Americas, or TW, HK, MO—as a check for its codes.
Do not assume a code for one account, game, or region will work on another. Roblox also advises checking the signed-in account when redeeming a promo code.

Check whether the code was already redeemed
Some codes are single-use per eligible account. If the error says the code has already been used, check the intended account’s redemption history or reward mail if the game provides those features. HoYoverse says each of its codes can be used only once. For a Roblox retail code that appears redeemed, Roblox recommends checking whether it was used on another account; retail codes have separate instructions from promo codes.
If you are dealing with a retail or platform code rather than an in-game reward, follow the issuer’s specific process. Roblox’s Retail Codes page says redemption must be done in a browser and explains what to do when a code appears to have been redeemed.

Use the correct redemption route for your device
Open the current support instructions for the specific game and follow its official redemption route. A missing redeem button may mean that the game does not support in-app redemption on that device, rather than that the code itself is invalid.

Honkai: Star Rail on iOS
HoYoverse’s November 18, 2025 support article says the in-game redemption feature is unavailable on iOS. It directs players to redeem through the official website after linking a HoYoverse account. Check the current iOS redemption guidance before proceeding, since platform instructions can change.

A successful redemption does not always put an item directly into the visible inventory. Check the correct account’s in-game mail, inventory, or the destination specified by the publisher. HoYoverse says Genshin Impact rewards arrive through in-game mail and that this mail typically expires after 30 days; that is a mail-expiry period, not a code-validity period. Roblox also advises checking inventory for promo items.

When to contact official support
If the code is within its stated validity period, was entered correctly, matches the account and region, and was redeemed through the supported route, contact the game or code issuer’s official support. Include the exact code, the game and platform, the account or server details they request, and a screenshot or video of the error. HoYoverse specifically asks for the code and an error screenshot or video. Riot and Roblox also provide support routes for code problems; use the help page for the relevant issuer.
Never give a third-party code site your account password or login credentials. Roblox warns that free Robux or valuable-item generators are scams; use official channels to obtain and redeem codes.
