If you want a drone that can operate from water and record 4K video, the HOVERAir AQUA is the clearest match: HOVERAir says it floats, can take off and land on water, and records 4K at up to 100 frames per second. The SwellPro SplashDrone 4+ is another waterproof option, with a manufacturer-listed Return To Boat feature. Those claims describe different recovery approaches, and neither establishes that a drone is guaranteed to return safely in every situation.
What makes a drone amphibious?
For a camera drone, “amphibious” generally means it is designed to work around water—not that it can dive or operate underwater. HOVERAir describes AQUA as IP67-rated, buoyant, able to right itself if flipped, and capable of taking off from and landing on water. These are manufacturer claims; an IP rating should not be read as permission for unlimited immersion.
HOVERAir’s AQUA features page presents the product as a self-flying camera for water activities. The company’s EU product page lists regional bundles and accessories.
How the two water-focused drones differ

What AQUA’s camera specifications mean
HOVERAir’s stated 4K maximum of 100 fps gives the camera a high-frame-rate recording mode on paper, while the launch announcement adds details about the sensor and still-photo format. Those numbers do not by themselves show how sharp footage looks, how well it handles changing light, or whether the drone can sustain a particular mode throughout a flight. No independent image-quality results are established in the cited material.
What to check before flying over water
- Launch and recovery: Confirm whether the aircraft is designed to take off, land, and float on water, and learn exactly what its return or recovery feature does. A return prompt or Return To Boat feature is not a guarantee of recovery if conditions or connection prevent it.
- Water-use limits: Read the maker’s full guidance for immersion, waves, and post-flight care. The cited information does not establish saltwater maintenance requirements or independent durability testing.
- Control and connection: Check how the aircraft is operated, what triggers a return, and what happens if contact with the operator is lost. Do not assume two products with “return” features behave the same way.
- Practical fit: Verify battery endurance, weight, storage needs, accessory compatibility, local warranty, and availability for the exact model and region. The cited material does not establish real-world battery life.
Bundles and regional pricing
When accessed in 2026, HOVERAir’s EU store displayed €1,699 for the Land and Sea Bundle and €1,499 for the Fly More Bundle. These are regional, changeable listed prices, not global or guaranteed current prices. The store describes bundles that may include items such as extra smart batteries, waterproof battery bags, a charging hub, Beacon, Lighthouse, a takeoff/landing pad, and a repair kit; check the live listing for the exact contents and compatibility before buying.

Which one should you consider?
Consider AQUA if your priority is a self-flying camera that HOVERAir says can float and launch or land on water, alongside its stated 4K/100-fps mode. Consider the SplashDrone 4+ if its listed Return To Boat function and telephoto camera specifications better match your needs. Before choosing either, compare the maker’s operating guidance, control and recovery behavior, and the exact regional package; the published specifications alone do not establish which will perform better in your conditions.
