It combines Zen 5/5c CPU cores, RDNA 3.5 graphics and an XDNA 2 neural processing unit (NPU). The range spans four to 12 CPU cores, with up to 50 NPU TOPS, and is intended for products such as industrial computers, automotive cockpits, medical systems and robotics.
What the Ryzen AI Embedded P100 is designed to do
AMD announced the P100 family on January 5, 2026. Its integrated CPU, GPU and NPU let an embedded system handle general-purpose computing, graphics and AI inference on one SoC. AMD positions it for workloads where processing near the device can reduce dependence on a remote server, including machine vision, industrial automation and other physical-AI applications.
The P100 is part of AMD’s broader Ryzen AI Embedded portfolio; AMD also describes an X100 family. The announcement’s P100 launch covered four- and six-core processors. The model range in AMD’s specifications extends beyond those initial configurations.
Models, core counts and performance
AMD’s 2026 specification table lists the following P100 examples. The core counts identify CPU cores; NPU TOPS are AI-acceleration figures and should not be read as CPU or graphics performance.

| Model | CPU cores | Published model-specific details |
|---|---|---|
| P121 / P121i | 4 | AMD lists the model variants; other details are not stated in the cited specification summary. |
| P132 / P132a | 6 | AMD lists the model variants; other details are not stated in the cited specification summary. |
| P164 | 8 | Other model-specific details are not stated in the cited specification summary. |
| P174 | 10 | Other model-specific details are not stated in the cited specification summary. |
| P185 / P185i | 12 | P185 is listed at up to 5.1 GHz, 28 W nominal TDP, a configurable 15–54 W range and up to 50 NPU TOPS. The cited summary does not give those figures separately for P185i. |
AMD lists up to 30 or 50 NPU TOPS depending on the SKU, with 50 TOPS at the top of the family. TOPS alone is not enough to compare two edge systems: the processor model, software support, memory, cooling and the specific AI workload also matter.
How and when AMD said the processors would become available
AMD’s 2026 update forecast production in the second quarter of 2026 for the four- and six-core P100 processors, and in July 2026 for the eight- to 12-core models. Those were AMD’s projected production windows, not independent confirmation of shipments. Because both dates have passed, they do not establish which models are shipping now; buyers should confirm current availability and lead times with AMD or the module vendor.

Where buyers can find P100
P100 is an embedded component family. In practice, buyers are more likely to encounter it on a computer-on-module (COM) or an industrial board than as a retail processor package. AMD’s partner update names Advantech, congatec and Kontron as vendors with P100-powered products.
| Product | Form factor and P100 options | Published implementation details |
|---|---|---|
| Advantech SOM-6874 | COM Express Compact Type 6; P121, P132, P164, P174 and P185 variants | Advantech lists up to 12 cores/24 threads, four independent 4K displays, up to 50 NPU TOPS and up to 96 GB DDR5. |
| congatec conga-TCRP1 | COM Express Compact Type 6; P121–P185 options | congatec lists a 15–54 W TDP range and optional onboard NVMe SSD. |
| Kontron K4131-Px | mITX platform; AMD describes a P100-based range spanning four to 12 CPU cores | The cited AMD partner description does not state memory capacity, display count or other comparable board specifications. |
These are implementations of the P100 family, not interchangeable versions of a single board. Before choosing one, check the exact processor SKU and compare memory capacity, I/O, display outputs, thermal limits, operating-temperature rating, carrier-board requirements, software stack and vendor support. The cited product information does not establish every one of those details for each platform, so confirm them in the relevant vendor’s current documentation.

What to weigh for an embedded deployment
Match compute to the workload
Choose CPU core count and clock for the application’s general processing needs, and evaluate the NPU against the intended models and inference software. A quoted NPU TOPS figure is only one part of real system performance; the supplied specifications do not give workload benchmarks for these products.
Check power and thermal design
The P185’s 28 W nominal TDP and configurable 15–54 W range illustrate why a model name alone is not a complete design target. Confirm the selected SKU’s power configuration, cooling requirements and environmental ratings with the module or board vendor. A power range does not by itself establish an industrial temperature rating.

Plan around the platform and its service life
For a COM design, establish whether the module includes the interfaces and support needed for the intended carrier board. AMD’s 2025 product brief describes availability for up to 10 years with long-term software maintenance (LTS). That is AMD’s stated product-brief commitment; confirm its terms and how they apply to a particular module, configuration and software stack with the supplier.
