It added launch support for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, expanded FSR 4 support in six games, and fixed a focused set of Radeon, AI, creator-app and FreeSync problems. It is now an archived release: AMD’s current driver page lists Adrenalin 26.7.1 WHQL Recommended, released July 28, 2026. Use 25.4.1 only when you need its historical game support, a specific fix, or a reproducible legacy setup.
AMD’s release notes identify the package as Optional, not beta software. AMD says it passed the WHQL test suite, while Microsoft Certification is listed as “Not Applicable.”

What 25.4.1 added
Oblivion Remastered support
The headline addition was official driver support for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. AMD’s notes describe support rather than a guaranteed frame-rate increase, so do not treat the update as a universal performance upgrade.
#1 Best Overall
- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
- Dual BIOS switch lets you toggle between Quiet and Performance BIOS profiles
- Dual ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs
FSR 4 expansion
AMD listed FSR 4 support for:
- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered
- Assassin’s Creed Shadows
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
- DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS
- Sid Meier’s Civilization VII
- NARAKA: BLADEPOINT
A driver alone does not add FSR 4 to every game or GPU. The title must implement it, and compatibility depends on the graphics hardware and Windows version. AMD’s RDNA 4 announcement positions FSR 4 with supported FSR 3.1 games and Radeon RX 9070 Series hardware; it is not a promise of universal support for older Radeon generations. AMD also noted that some Naraka: Bladepoint users on Windows 10 did not yet have FSR 4 support.
See AMD’s RDNA 4 and FSR 4 announcement for AMD’s platform positioning.
Amuse and application support
AMD added support for Amuse 3 and AMD-optimized models. The release also targeted several application-specific problems on RX 7000 and RX 9000 hardware.

- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal heat transfer, lowering GPU temperatures for enhanced performance and reliability
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- Dual-ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as standard conventional sleeve bearings designs
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
Fixes AMD listed
- Topaz Photo AI “Adjust Lighting v1” and “Adjust Lighting v2” model failures on Radeon RX 9000 Series.
- Flashing or flickering with AMD FreeSync.
- Lower-than-expected DirectML and generative-AI performance in Amuse 3.0 on RX 7000 Series paired with Ryzen AI 300 Series processors.
- Image corruption with certain Amuse 3.0 diffuser models on RX 9000 Series.
- Lower-than-expected performance in World of Warcraft’s Western Plaguelands on RX 9000 Series.
- Integrated-camera detection failures after a factory-reset installation on some Ryzen AI Max and Max+ systems.
These are defined fixes, not a blanket cure for Radeon crashes, display faults or game performance.

Mobile Radeon families
Listed mobile products include RX 7900M, 7800M and 7600M; RX 6800M, 6700M, 6600M, 6500M and 6300M; and RX 5700M, 5600M, 5500M and 5300M. AMD calls this a notebook reference driver with limited vendor-specific feature support.
Integrated Radeon graphics
AMD also listed numerous Ryzen, Ryzen AI, Ryzen PRO, Athlon and Athlon PRO processors with Radeon graphics. For laptops and all-in-one PCs, AMD recommends the manufacturer’s driver because it is validated for that system’s power, display, camera, thermal, mux and hotkey features.

Operating-system and product limits
- Windows 11 version 21H2 and later.
- Windows 10 64-bit version 1809 and later.
- Actual support can vary by Radeon product.
- No handheld gaming-device support.
- Apple Boot Camp users should obtain graphics support from the system provider.
- Installation requires administrator rights and is for Windows, not Linux.
How to download and install the archived driver
- Open AMD’s Previous Drivers page.
- Select your exact Radeon product and Windows 10 or Windows 11 64-bit.
- Choose Adrenalin 25.4.1 (Optional), then open its release notes or download link.
- Record your current driver version and create a restore point or other recovery path. Close games and GPU-intensive applications.
- Run the installer as an administrator and restart when prompted.
- Test the game or application that motivated the installation before changing additional settings.
Laptop and all-in-one owners should check the OEM support page first. A reference package can install while omitting device-specific functionality.
When installing 25.4.1 makes sense
Install it for a specific need
- You are maintaining an April 2025-era setup for Oblivion Remastered.
- You have an RX 9000 Series card and need the listed FSR 4 game support.
- You are affected by the documented FreeSync, Topaz Photo AI, Amuse, World of Warcraft or Ryzen AI camera issue.
- A test or legacy environment requires this exact version.
Stay on a stable Recommended or OEM driver
- Your current system works and you do not need the added game or FSR 4 support.
- You rely on SteamVR or regularly play a title named in the known-issues list.
- You use a laptop or all-in-one whose manufacturer supplies a customized driver.
- Your hardware is outside AMD’s listed compatibility families.
Do not expect a guaranteed FPS gain, FSR 4 on every Radeon GPU, handheld support, or a fix for every crash and display problem.

- Chipset: AMD RX 9070 XT
- Memory: 16 GB GDDR6
- XFX SWFT Triple Fan Cooling Solution
- Boost Clock Up to 2970 MHz
- Download the intended driver and Cleanup Utility before removing the current installation.
- Run Cleanup Utility and accept its prompt to reboot into Safe Mode.
- Allow it to remove the existing AMD graphics and audio software.
- Restart, install the desired package as administrator, and restart again.
If the new driver causes instability, enter Windows Safe Mode, run Cleanup Utility, then reinstall the previous known-good package from the Previous Drivers archive. On a laptop, return to the OEM driver when the AMD reference package disrupts device-specific functions.
Bottom line
Adrenalin 25.4.1 was a targeted April 2025 Optional release, valuable mainly for Oblivion Remastered, early FSR 4 coverage and its specific bug fixes. It is not the current driver in 2026. Choose the archived package only for a documented compatibility reason; otherwise use AMD’s current Recommended driver or your laptop manufacturer’s validated release.
