Amazon Bee Frontier is the model you can buy now for $74.99 on Amazon.com (Amazon, 2026). It is a small wearable that captures conversations when you press its button, turns them into summaries and recaps, and keeps a 14-day memory at no extra charge. Bee Pro costs $11.99 per month and adds longer history, integrations, suggested tasks, daily memories, a chat assistant, templates, and a desktop app.
Bee is not designed to store a continuous audio archive. Amazon says audio is processed in real time and discarded; a green LED indicates capture is active, and you can delete stored transcripts and summaries. The announced Bee Eclipse is a different, phone-mounted model for processing both sides of calls, but it is not yet available.
What Amazon Bee is and which model you can buy
Bee is an ambient-AI wearable. You clip it to clothing or wear it on the supplied wristband, press a physical button to start or stop capture, and let the companion app turn spoken conversations into searchable summaries, recaps, and action items. It is intended for meetings, errands, interviews, classes, family conversations, and other in-person situations where taking notes by hand is inconvenient.

If your priority is remembering face-to-face conversations, Frontier is the relevant product now. If your main problem is capturing both sides of telephone calls, Eclipse is the model to watch, but buying decisions must wait for its confirmed release information.
Does Bee require a subscription?
No. You can use Bee without Bee Pro. Purchasing Bee includes conversation summaries, recaps, and a 14-day memory window at no additional cost. That free allowance is enough for basic capture and short-term reference without a recurring payment.
Bee Pro costs $11.99 per month. New customers receive 30 days free, after which the subscription renews at the stated monthly price unless canceled under the account terms. Pro is an expansion of the service, not a requirement to operate the hardware.

The practical choice is straightforward: stay on the included tier if 14 days of memory and basic summaries meet your needs; consider Pro if you need a longer working history, automated task suggestions, integrations, desktop access, or the additional assistant features. Confirm current terms before subscribing because prices and feature bundles can change.

How long does Bee’s battery last?
Bee Frontier is rated for up to seven days, or up to 160 hours, on a charge. “Up to” is a maximum claim rather than a guaranteed runtime. Frequent capture, wireless communication, app synchronization, temperature, and battery age can reduce the interval between charges. Frontier charges over USB-C, so a standard USB-C power adapter or computer port can replenish it.
Frontier’s IP67 rating provides protection against dust and temporary water immersion under the conditions defined for that rating. It is not a license to wear the device in a sauna, use it for swimming, or expose the charging port to liquid. Dry the device and connector before charging.
Amazon’s announced Eclipse material indicates an approximately three-week battery claim, but Eclipse is not yet available and its final retail specifications have not been published. Treat that figure as provisional until the product page provides a shipping model, test conditions, and charging details.

- Charge Frontier fully before a long day and carry a USB-C cable if you will be away from power.
- Stop capture with the button when a conversation has ended instead of leaving an unnecessary session active.
- Keep the phone app updated so synchronization does not repeatedly retry in the background.
- If runtime drops sharply after normal use, check whether the device is continually trying to connect, then restart it and contact support if the change persists.
Does Bee work with iPhone and Android?
Yes. The official Frontier information lists companion apps for both iOS and Android. Pair the wearable with the phone that will receive its summaries and manage settings. The same material lists support for more than 40 languages and integrations with Google, Alexa, and Amazon.com.

Language availability can vary by feature, account region, and app version. If you need a specific language for transcription or summaries, check the language selector in the current app rather than assuming every feature works identically in all 40-plus languages.
What the phone is responsible for
- Initial pairing and account sign-in.
- Transferring processed results and displaying summaries, recaps, and to-dos.
- Managing memory, deletion, integrations, and subscription settings.
- Providing access to Pro-only desktop and connected-app features when those are enabled.
The announced Eclipse is different: it is designed to attach to a phone and process both sides of calls. Do not assume Frontier can capture a telephone call in the same way. Wait for Eclipse’s final compatibility and operating-system requirements before buying it specifically for call recording.
Is Bee always recording?
Officially, Bee does not operate as an uncontrolled, always-on audio archive. A single press of the device button starts or stops capture, and a green LED shows when the device is on and capturing. You should check the LED before speaking about anything sensitive and press the button again when the conversation ends.

Amazon states that Bee processes conversations in real time without storing the audio. Its Private Compute documentation says, “Bee does not store your audio—conversations are processed in real time and then discarded.” The company’s launch announcement likewise describes summaries, recaps, and 14-day memory as the included service rather than an audio library. Processed outputs still matter: transcripts, summaries, and to-dos can remain in your account until you delete them.

Call capture requires appropriate consent. Laws differ by jurisdiction, and some places require every participant’s consent before recording or transcribing a call. Tell people when Bee is active, follow workplace or school policies, and do not use the device covertly.
How Bee protects stored information
Amazon says transcripts, summaries, and to-dos are encrypted with keys controlled only by the customer, and that Amazon does not possess a master key. You can delete transcripts and summaries from the service. That design separates two questions that are often confused: audio retention and output retention. The raw audio is described as being discarded after real-time processing, while text-based results may remain available for the memory period or longer when Pro features apply.
Privacy is therefore partly a product control and partly a user practice. Keep the green capture indicator visible, explain what the device is doing, review who can access the paired phone and account, and remove sensitive summaries when they are no longer needed. Integrations can send information into other services; enable only the connections you understand and need.

A privacy checklist before your first use
- Read the current Bee privacy and account terms in the app.
- Decide which conversations are appropriate to capture and which must remain off-limits.
- Tell participants that capture is active and obtain any consent required where you live.
- Confirm the green LED state before and after each session.
- Review summaries for sensitive details and delete individual transcripts or summaries you do not want retained.
- Recheck connected-app permissions after enabling or disabling an integration.
Setting up Bee Frontier
- Charge the device. Connect Frontier with USB-C and wait until it has enough power for pairing and a test session.
- Install the companion app. Use the official Bee app from your phone’s iOS or Android app store, then sign in or create the required account.
- Pair the wearable. Follow the app’s on-screen pairing instructions and grant only the phone permissions needed for device communication and notifications.
- Choose how to wear it. Use the supplied clip for clothing or the wristband for a consistent position. Keep the microphone unobstructed.
- Test capture. Press the physical button once, verify the green LED, speak a short test, then press again to stop. Wait for the app to sync the resulting summary.
- Set your retention habits. Learn where the app displays transcripts and summaries, and practice deleting a test item before recording real conversations.
- Configure optional integrations. Add Google, Alexa, Amazon.com, or other supported services only if their data flow fits your privacy requirements; several integrations require Bee Pro.
Labels and permission prompts can change as the app is updated. Follow the current on-screen wording rather than relying on an older setup video.

Common problems and what to check
The device will not pair
- Confirm Bluetooth and the phone’s required permissions are enabled.
- Keep Frontier close to the phone, restart both devices, and retry pairing from the Bee app.
- Install pending app or operating-system updates.
- If Frontier was paired to another phone, remove the old pairing according to the app’s device settings before trying again.
No summary appears
- Check that capture was actually started: the button must have been pressed and the green LED should have indicated active capture.
- Allow time for synchronization and keep the phone connected to the internet.
- Verify that the conversation language is supported and selected correctly.
- Check whether the item was deleted or whether your account is outside the included 14-day memory window.
Battery life is much shorter than expected
- Compare use against the “up to 160 hours” maximum rather than treating it as a fixed seven-day guarantee.
- Stop sessions promptly and look for repeated connection attempts or a stuck sync.
- Inspect the USB-C connection and charge from a known-good adapter.
- Contact support if the battery loses capacity rapidly under ordinary conditions.
You need to capture a phone call
Frontier is intended for in-person ambient conversations. Do not purchase it assuming it will reliably process both sides of a cellular or app-based call. Eclipse is the announced phone-attachment model for that use case, but its final availability and requirements are still pending.
Which Bee should you buy?
Buy Bee Frontier now if you want in-person memory support
Frontier is the only currently available model, costs $74.99 on Amazon.com, includes a clip and wristband, and provides the core summaries, recaps, and 14-day memory without a subscription. Its iOS and Android apps, 40-plus-language listing, IP67 rating, USB-C charging, and seven-day maximum battery claim make it the practical choice for meetings and everyday conversations.
Wait for Bee Eclipse if calls are your main requirement
Eclipse is designed around the phone rather than around ambient wearable capture. Its announced starting price is $99.99, and official material indicates an approximately three-week battery claim, but it is not yet available. Wait for a live product page with confirmed shipping, compatibility, consent behavior, charging, and final privacy details before committing.

Skip Bee Pro unless its extras solve a specific problem
The free service is usable on its own. Pro becomes easier to justify when you need more than the 14-day memory window, unlimited recent summaries, suggested to-dos, daily memories, the personal chat assistant, templates, connected services, or the Bee desktop app. Remember that the 30-day free period for new customers transitions to $11.99 per month unless canceled.

- Confirm the live Amazon price and whether Frontier is in stock in your country.
