But the remote you can locate by asking Alexa is a different product: Fire TV Remote Plus, which Amazon says is expected in early 2027. The included remote does not have the announced sound-based Find My Remote feature.
What Amazon announced
On September 30, 2026, Amazon announced the Fire TV Stick 4K (2026 release) and a redesigned Fire TV Remote. The U.S. list price for the stick is $59.99. Amazon says shipping begins in the United States, Canada, Japan, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and Australia, with additional countries to follow in late October. Availability and prices can vary by market and may change; check your local listing before buying. Amazon’s announcement has the U.S. launch details.
Amazon lists the stick’s operating system as Vega, with Alexa+ and the new Fire TV experience. Its published specifications include 8 GB of storage, a quad-core 1.7 GHz processor, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and Bluetooth Low Energy, and video output up to 2160p at 60 frames per second. Listed video formats include HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, H.265, H.264, VP9, and AV1. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.
Powering the stick
Amazon’s Direct Power feature lets the stick draw power from a TV USB port using the included cable, which can reduce the need for a separate power adapter. Whether that setup works conveniently will depend on the TV and available USB power; Amazon’s announcement describes the feature but does not establish compatibility for every television.

Which Fire TV remote can Alexa find?
There are two separate remotes in Amazon’s announcement. The redesigned Fire TV Remote is the one bundled with the 2026 stick and sold separately. Fire TV Remote Plus is the future model Amazon says will include Find My Remote. The feature distinction matters: the bundled remote is not the Alexa-findable Remote Plus.
Redesigned Fire TV Remote: tactile controls now
The redesigned remote has an asymmetric shape, a flat top and curved weighted bottom, tactile indented buttons, a distinct metal Home button, and a customizable star button. Its physical design is intended to make buttons easier to identify by touch; Amazon does not announce sound-based locating for this model.

Amazon lists the standalone redesigned remote at $14.99 in the U.S., with shipping in late October. In Australia, Amazon lists it at A$24.95 and says shipping begins October 22, 2026. Amazon Australia says it pairs with Fire TV streaming media players launched from 2019 through the announcement date; that statement is specific to Australia and does not establish compatibility for every device or region. Fire TV Remote Plus: sound-based locating later
Amazon says Fire TV Remote Plus will add an aluminum housing, backlit buttons, and Find My Remote, and is expected in early 2027. To locate it, the owner can say “Alexa, find my remote”; Amazon says the remote will play a sound. Amazon also lists a compatible Alexa device, the Alexa app, and the Remote Finder button in the Fire TV mobile app as ways to start the feature. This is an announced capability for Remote Plus, not the redesigned remote shipping with the stick.

Amazon has not given Remote Plus a price in the cited announcement. “Expected in early 2027” is a forecast, not a guaranteed retail date, so check Amazon’s current listing closer to launch.

- Choose the Fire TV Stick 4K if: you want a 4K-capable streaming stick and its listed features suit your TV and network. Consider the $59.99 U.S. list price as an announcement price, not a guarantee of the price you will pay later.
- Consider the redesigned remote if: you already own a compatible Fire TV player and want the new tactile layout now. Check your device and regional listing first; Amazon’s support page covers existing remote generations but does not establish compatibility for the newly announced standalone remote. - Wait for Remote Plus if: sound-based remote locating is the feature you specifically want. Its announced timing is early 2027, and Amazon has not announced its price.
The available announcements provide Amazon’s product specifications and claims, not a consistent independent benchmark against competing streaming devices. They therefore do not establish that this stick is faster than rivals. Amazon also says the Home button is pressed “over 100 million times per day on average” across Fire TV devices; that is Amazon’s own usage figure, not an independent usage study.
