Sanctuary Raid: Ludra, presented as AION 2’s pinnacle encounter, returns on November 4, 2026 with new mechanics and revised attack patterns. NCSoft removed it from the October 5 global launch after Early Access groups defeated the raid earlier in the progression curve than the developer intended. The relaunch resets the first-clear race and adds preparation events, rewards and regional title competition.
Why was Ludra removed from AION 2’s launch?
Ludra was pulled because Early Access parties cleared it at a lower overall progression level than NCSoft expected. The result was that the encounter no longer represented the high-end milestone the developer had planned for the October 5 global launch.
NCSoft said Sanctuary Raids should create memorable moments in which players discover mechanics together, develop strategies, compete for first clears and celebrate the eventual victory. Removing Ludra gave the studio time to redesign the encounter and create a new global race rather than preserve an already-solved launch race.
Gear associated with the Early Access version was temporarily removed along with the raid. Contemporary reporting says that gear is scheduled to return when Ludra does, with upgrade materials refunded.

When is Ludra coming back?
NCSoft’s announced return date is November 4, 2026. The returning Sanctuary Raid includes new mechanics, but the official announcement does not publish the redesigned attack sequence, attack names or a complete mechanic guide.
That means detailed pre-release walkthroughs should be treated as provisional unless they are based on the live encounter or a later official note. A guide describing the Early Access version may no longer match the November fight.

These are NCSoft’s stated item-level thresholds for the returning raid. They do not describe the full practical readiness of a party: groups will still need coordinated roles, a plan for unfamiliar mechanics and enough consumables and recovery resources for repeated attempts.
What preparation events are available before and during the return?
Odyle Energy boost
From October 28 through November 10 or 11, depending on region, players can claim 4 Odyle Energy per day from in-game mail. The delivery is limited to one per account per day, so it is an account-level allowance rather than a separate claim for every character.
Ludra Conquest Check-In
The check-in runs November 4–17 in PST regions and November 4–18 in CET regions. It offers seven rewards across the 14-day window:

Twitch Drops
Twitch Drops are scheduled for November 4–17 in PST regions and November 4–18 in CET regions. Rewards unlock at each hour from one through 14 hours of viewing. The announced reward pool includes Resurrection Spiritstones, skin chests, pet chests, enhancement scrolls, vouchers, food, Soul Codex items, Odyle Energy and cosmetic items.

The first-clear event runs November 4–24 in PST regions and November 4–25 in CET regions. The first 20 hard-mode parties in each of Europe, NA East, NA West, South America and Asia receive ranked titles. Any other player who clears normal or hard mode during the event receives the Ludra Hunter title.
Daeva Bootcamp
Daeva Bootcamp counts eligible dungeon clears across five regions toward global mail rewards. The milestones are 500,000, 1,250,000, 3,000,000, 5,000,000 and 7,000,000 total clears. Because the rewards are tied to worldwide participation, individual players contribute by completing eligible dungeons even if they are not attempting Ludra immediately.

What changed in the redesigned Ludra fight?
NCSoft has confirmed new mechanics and adjusted attack patterns, but it has not released the exact encounter sequence. There is therefore no reliable official list yet of which attacks were replaced, how phases work or whether familiar Early Access strategies remain valid.
For launch preparation, use the item-level thresholds as the firm requirement and treat mechanic callouts, build recommendations and phase diagrams published before November 4 as tentative. The first live clears will establish which parts of the old strategy still apply.

How should a party prepare for the November race?
- Reach the threshold: bring each intended normal-mode character to item level 2,800, or each hard-mode character to 3,000.
- Use the preparation window: claim the daily Odyle Energy mail from October 28 onward and complete the check-in rewards once the raid opens.
- Agree on a learning plan: reserve attempts for testing unfamiliar mechanics rather than assuming the Early Access pattern is unchanged.
- Choose the target: parties seeking ranked titles must clear hard mode early enough to place among the first 20 in their region; groups focused on completion can pursue either difficulty for the event title.
- Track your region’s cutoff: PST and CET event windows end on different calendar dates, so convert the deadline to your own server region before scheduling a final attempt.
What does the return mean for AION 2 players?
The November relaunch turns Ludra from a removed launch feature into a fresh progression and competition milestone. Players get a redesigned encounter, a new first-clear ranking and a broad set of progression and cosmetic incentives, while NCSoft gets the discovery period it originally intended for its hardest raid.

Can I claim the Odyle Energy boost on every character?
No. The announced delivery is limited to one claim per account per day, so changing characters does not create additional daily mail rewards.
Are Early Access Ludra guides still reliable?
Only as historical references. NCSoft has confirmed new mechanics and adjusted attacks without publishing the final sequence, so an old guide may describe behavior that is absent from the November 4 version.
Do I have to clear hard mode to earn a Ludra event title?
No. The ranked titles are reserved for the first 20 hard-mode parties in each listed region, but players who clear either normal or hard mode during the Ludra Hunt window can receive the Ludra Hunter title.
