What Atmel sold to Adesto
The transaction covered the AT45XXX “Data Flash” and AT25XXX “BIOS Flash” product families, the employee teams supporting those products, and transition services intended to help customers move to Adesto. The product-change notice identifies the BIOSFlash families as AT25DXXX and AT25FXXX, alongside the AT45XXX DataFlash family.

Are DataFlash and BIOS Flash the same family?
No. They were separate product families included in the same sale: AT45XXX parts were branded DataFlash, while AT25DXXX and AT25FXXX parts belonged to BIOS Flash. Their shared ownership history does not make their interfaces or electrical specifications interchangeable.
What happened to AT45DB parts after the sale?
Adesto continued supporting the acquired products and developed newer DataFlash and Fusion Flash products using technology acquired from Atmel. Its 2015 Form 10-K also listed Mavriq and Moneta among its product families. In a 2016 Form 10-Q, Adesto described the acquired products as nearing the end of their life cycle and said it supported them without further research-and-development investment while developing newer products. The filings document declining legacy revenue: $0.9 million in the quarter ended March 2015, $0.3 million in the quarter ended March 2016, and $71,000 in the quarter ended March 2017.
