Short answer: Abstract’s pricing page shows Standard at $99/month, but its displayed allowance differs by billing view. The monthly-billing view lists 60,000 requests/month; the annual-billing view lists 60,000 requests/year, equivalent to an average of 5,000 per month. The annual figure does not cover a steady 10,000 screenshots every month. Confirm the selected quota and charge in Abstract’s checkout before subscribing.

What Abstract charges for this workload

Pricing-page view Displayed Standard price Displayed allowance Rate limit Fit for 10,000 per month
Monthly billing $99/month 60,000 requests/month 3 requests/second Yes, if checkout confirms these terms; the listed monthly allowance is six times the target.
Annual billing $99/month, paid annually 60,000 requests/year 3 requests/second No, not at a steady 10,000 each month; averaged across the year, the allowance is 5,000 monthly.

These are the figures visible on Abstract’s Screenshot API pricing page when accessed on October 3, 2026. The page does not explain why the annual and monthly views show different allowances or list a distinct 10,000-request monthly tier. Because the pricing content is dynamic, verify the billing cadence, quota, and final charge in your account or checkout flow before buying.

Abstract labels the allowance in requests, while its product page describes sending a URL or raw HTML and receiving an image. Confirm that your intended workflow maps one capture to one billable request, particularly if it uses batching, retries, or additional requests. The published allowance alone does not establish how every workflow is counted.

How to compare the listed 10,000-per-month alternatives

The figures below are vendor-listed prices and terms, not the results of a like-for-like quality or reliability test. ScreenshotNeo is listed first as an alternative to try; its published plan includes more than the target volume.

Service and plan Listed price Published allowance Relevant terms
ScreenshotNeo $15/month for Growth 15,000 shots/month Only clean shots are billed; failed loads, bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, and cache hits cost nothing. A free plan includes 1,000 shots/month with no card.
ScreenshotOne Growth $79/month 10,000 screenshots/month 80 requests/minute; $0.006 per extra. Only successful renders not served from cache count against quota. Extra usage is charged only if enabled and is subject to an account hard limit. Listed features include full-page capture, PDF and HTML rendering, caching, webhooks, and signed links. Source.
Site-Shot Lite $15/month 10,000 screenshots/month 10 dedicated workers, 49-country geotargeting, and 175 scheduled captures per week. API and scheduled captures share the allowance; each extra capture costs $0.0015. Saved-screenshot capacity is separate, and stored images persist during the subscription plus a 30-day grace period after it ends. Source.

When comparing a headline price, check how the provider counts captures and cache hits, the rate or concurrency limit, retry and overage rules, geographic options, storage, required capture features, support, and any contract or security requirements. ScreenshotOne’s $79 and Site-Shot’s $15 prices and terms are vendor listings accessed October 3, 2026; pricing can change.

What Abstract’s API includes—and what it does not

Abstract describes a REST API that accepts a URL or raw HTML and returns an image. The product page names JPEG, PNG, and GIF output, and lists viewport and dimension settings, custom CSS injection, capture delays and timing controls, plus rendering support for HTML, CSS, SVG, webfonts, graphs, and images.

Abstract presents device and user-agent QA, recurring snapshots, embedded previews, backlink or banner monitoring, and security-oriented image previews as use cases. These are vendor-described applications, not independently validated results.

For location-sensitive testing, note Abstract’s stated limitation: its FAQ says capture from different locations is not currently supported and describes it as being on the roadmap, without a delivery date. Do not treat that as a feature currently available.

When the annual plan might still work

If your workload is 10,000 captures in some months but no more than 60,000 across the full year, the annual-view allowance could fit the total volume if the checkout confirms it. If you need 10,000 every month, that is 120,000 a year, twice the annual-view allowance. The monthly-view figure would cover the target if it is the quota actually applied to your subscription.

For uneven usage, do not assume an annual total can be freely concentrated into a few months: the pricing page’s displayed figures do not establish how monthly limits, bursts, or rollover work. Confirm those rules with Abstract before relying on them.

Or skip the browser setup

For a single request, ScreenshotNeo can return a screenshot directly. The example below saves a WebP capture of a URL; create an API key first and see the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

ScreenshotNeo removes cookie and consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each cleanup step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and responses identify the page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server lets AI agents use screenshot tools. The free plan includes 1,000 shots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. Sign up for the free plan.
