AAWireless TWO launched on October 20, 2024, at a U.S. launch price of $64.99. It made the original AAWireless adapter smaller and added a physical button for pairing, switching phones and standby. The important catch: standard TWO is for Android Auto only, not CarPlay. It also requires a car or aftermarket head unit where wired Android Auto already works. The launch date and price are historical; check the current product listing for today’s availability and price.
What AAWireless TWO does
AAWireless TWO is a USB adapter that turns a working wired Android Auto connection into a wireless one. The phone and adapter begin setup over Bluetooth and then use Wi-Fi for the main connection; Bluetooth does not carry the full Android Auto session. It is intended for drivers who otherwise plug an Android phone into the car for every trip, not as a way to add Android Auto to a car that lacks it.
AAWireless announced the adapter on October 1, 2024, and set October 20 as its launch date. Launch coverage reported U.S. Amazon sales and availability across Europe, with expansion to other countries planned. The $64.99 figure was the U.S. launch price, not a verified current 2026 price. 9to5Google’s launch report and Droid Life’s announcement coverage describe the October 2024 launch.
What changed from the original AAWireless
A smaller housing
At launch, AAWireless described TWO as approximately 30% smaller than the original adapter. That is the company’s comparison, not an independent measurement. The reduced size may make the unit easier to place near a USB port, but it still connects to the car with a cable.
#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with wired-only Android Auto systems
- Requires Android 11+
- Multifunctional button for easy phone pairing and switching
- Connects unlimited phones, perfect for road trips
- Plug & play setup, no tech skills needed
A physical multifunction button
The button can help pair a phone, switch between paired phones, or put the adapter in standby. Its actions can be configured through the companion app. Exact press patterns and available mappings can depend on the current app and firmware, so follow the instructions shown for your device rather than assuming one universal tap sequence.
A more visible LED and redesigned app
The more prominent status light makes the adapter’s state easier to see. AAWireless’s current product page says a solid blue light indicates Wi-Fi connectivity has been established after the initial Bluetooth exchange; it does not establish a complete color-code guide for every state.
Rank #2
- Compatible with wired-only Android Auto & Apple CarPlay systems. Requires Android 11+ or iPhone X and newer.
- Multifunctional button for easy phone pairing and switching
- Connects unlimited phones — perfect for road trips
- Plug & play setup — no tech skills needed
- Compact design (2.17 × 1.38 × 0.59 in / 18g)
The companion app supports setup, firmware updates, troubleshooting, device settings and button configuration. It also provides advanced options, including display or DPI adjustments where supported. Basic operation may not require opening the app every time, but the app is useful for maintenance and diagnosing connection problems. AAWireless’s product page describes the current product and app features.
These are chiefly changes to size, visibility and control. The launch claim of “significant” improvements should not be read as proof of faster connections, greater range, better audio quality or universal compatibility.

Standard TWO does not support CarPlay
AAWireless TWO supports Android Auto, not Apple CarPlay. AAWireless said stable CarPlay support required different hardware, so it planned a separate TWO+ model rather than adding CarPlay to standard TWO with a software update. The current official product page distinguishes the Android Auto-only TWO from TWO+, which supports both Android Auto and CarPlay. 9to5Google’s report on the CarPlay limitation covered the hardware explanation.
If you use an iPhone, or share a car between Android and iPhone users who both need wireless dashboard access, compare TWO+ rather than assuming a listing for “AAWireless 2” includes CarPlay. Check the official page for current regional availability and price; the available launch reporting does not establish a current TWO+ price.

Check compatibility before buying
The adapter needs all of the following:
- An Android phone compatible with Android Auto.
- A car or aftermarket head unit where wired Android Auto already works.
- A USB port that carries data and supports the car’s Android Auto connection, not just charging.
The practical test is to connect the phone directly to the car with a suitable USB cable. If Android Auto does not start, troubleshoot that wired connection first: the adapter cannot fix an unsupported vehicle, a charging-only port or a broken wired Android Auto setup. Cars with native wireless Android Auto do not need this adapter, and AAWireless says vehicles with built-in wireless Android Auto or CarPlay are not compatible with it.
The official page lists an adapter, a short USB-C-to-USB-A data cable and a quick-start manual as included items. Regional retail packaging can differ, so check the box contents for the specific listing. It also states a two-year warranty for units bought through Amazon or the official webshop; retailer and regional terms should be checked before relying on that coverage.

Setup and recovery steps
- Test wired Android Auto by connecting the phone directly to the car’s Android Auto USB data port.
- Plug AAWireless TWO into that port, then install or open the AAWireless companion app.
- Pair the phone with the adapter over Bluetooth and allow the Bluetooth exchange to establish the Wi-Fi connection.
- Complete Android Auto setup, then use the app to check for firmware updates and configure the button if desired.
Exact screen labels vary by Android version, phone maker, app version and firmware. If pairing fails, AAWireless recommends these options; they are troubleshooting steps, not guaranteed fixes:
- Bluetooth device is not visible: reboot the phone, reset the adapter and start pairing again.
- Bluetooth appears but will not connect: toggle Bluetooth off and on, forget the
AAWireless-XXXXdevice, restart the phone and car infotainment system, then pair again. - Adapter Wi-Fi network is missing: reboot the phone, reset the adapter and retry initial pairing.
- Wi-Fi appears but connection does not complete: manually select the adapter’s Bluetooth device in the phone’s Bluetooth settings. If the problem persists, try another phone to distinguish a phone-specific issue; you can also clear Android Auto’s cache and delete the
AAWireless-XXXXWi-Fi network before pairing again.
Who should consider it?
A good fit
- Drivers with wired-only Android Auto who want to avoid plugging in a phone on every journey.
- Vehicles shared by multiple Android users who can benefit from switching phones.
- Buyers who value a physical control and app-based configuration, and do not need CarPlay.
Look elsewhere or fix the underlying problem first
- iPhone users and mixed-platform households that need CarPlay should compare AAWireless TWO+.
- Drivers whose car already has native wireless Android Auto have little reason to add an adapter.
- A car with wired CarPlay but no working wired Android Auto does not meet TWO’s requirement.
- A charging-only USB port or unreliable wired Android Auto connection is not something the adapter can repair.
- Anyone expecting a completely cable-free installation should know that TWO still connects to the car by USB cable.
Trade-offs and alternatives
In its review, Android Central reported smooth operation and phone switching, but also noted that early connections could take longer than a wired connection, that the delay improved after setup, and that the package lacked adhesive for mounting. These are reviewer observations from its setup, not universal performance measurements. The app’s breadth can be useful for troubleshooting and customization, though it may be more complexity than someone seeking a basic plug-in device wants.
| Option | Potential fit | What to weigh |
|---|---|---|
| AAWireless TWO+ | Households needing both wireless Android Auto and CarPlay. | Separate model with different hardware; check current price and regional availability on the official comparison page. |
| Motorola MA1 | Buyers comparing another wireless Android Auto adapter. | Android Central discussed it as an alternative; its review judgment is not an objective performance comparison. |
| Carsifi | Android users considering another adapter with multi-phone pairing. | Check current availability, firmware support and maintenance information before choosing. |
| Carlinkit 5.0 | Buyers considering an alternative described in review coverage as offering broader platform support. | Android Central criticized its firmware update process and documentation; that is reviewer assessment, not a measured comparison. |
Those alternatives are not interchangeable on every vehicle. Confirm the specific adapter’s platform support and wired-system requirements before buying; current prices and stock are not established here.
