LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Apollo support different parts of B2B lead generation. Sales Navigator is the stronger fit to evaluate when your first need is finding prospects in LinkedIn’s professional network and understanding potential paths through colleagues. Apollo is the stronger fit to evaluate when you want prospect data and outreach tools in one platform. Neither product is proven here to produce more clients; choose by workflow, verify data and current terms, and test with a representative sample.

How the two tools approach finding clients

The practical distinction is between relationship-led discovery and a combined data-and-outreach workflow. LinkedIn’s product material emphasizes searching profiles and companies, following relevant changes, and surfacing colleagues’ connections. Apollo’s current pricing page presents a platform for prospecting, outreach, and deal management, with contact and account data and credit-based plan limits.

That is a comparison of vendor-described capabilities, not an independent performance test. It does not establish which service finds more accurate records, earns more replies, or converts more prospects for a particular team.

What LinkedIn Sales Navigator is suited to

Search prospects in LinkedIn’s professional network

LinkedIn-published Sales Navigator material describes filters for finding leads by profile and company attributes. This can suit sellers who identify buyers by role, employer, or other professional context and want to work from LinkedIn profiles.

Use alerts and colleague connections as context

The same older feature document describes alerts about relevant prospect changes and TeamLink, which surfaces paths through colleagues’ first-degree connections. These features can help a seller notice a change or identify a possible warm route. They do not guarantee an introduction or a higher response rate.

The supporting LinkedIn feature document is old, so it supports these broad workflow concepts only—not today’s complete feature set, limits, plan names, or prices. The current regional pricing and trial terms were not established here; check LinkedIn’s official local plan page before buying.

What Apollo is suited to

Combine prospect data and outreach

Apollo’s official pricing page describes contact and account data alongside prospecting, outreach, and deal-management functions. That positioning may fit a team seeking to build lists and carry prospects into outreach in one platform. Confirm that the contact fields, integrations, and workflow you need are included in the plan you select.

Understand the displayed plan terms

On Apollo’s official pricing page, accessed October 5, 2026, the free tier and Basic plan were displayed. Basic was listed at $49 per seat per month when billed annually, with 30,000 credits per seat per year. Apollo says prices and features may change. The displayed annual-billing rate is not a month-to-month price, and credits should not be assumed to equal a fixed number of usable contacts; check the vendor’s current credit rules and any add-ons.

Compare the workflows before choosing

Decision area LinkedIn Sales Navigator Apollo What to evaluate
Finding prospects LinkedIn material describes lead search using profile and company filters. Apollo’s official page positions its platform around prospecting and contact/account data. Do you need to discover people in LinkedIn’s professional network, or build lists in a sales-data workflow?
Relationship context Older LinkedIn material describes alerts and TeamLink paths through colleagues’ first-degree connections. The official page describes data and execution in one platform; the available sources do not establish an equivalent relationship-network advantage. Does your sales motion rely on colleague connections, or primarily on list building and outbound execution?
Contact fields and outreach The cited feature document focuses on profiles, alerts, and introductions; it does not establish a current Apollo-like contact database or outbound-sequence feature. The official page describes contact/account data and outreach capabilities, with credit-based plan limits. List the exact fields and outreach methods your reps need, then verify current availability and limits with each vendor.
Team workflow TeamLink is described as surfacing colleagues’ first-degree connections. Apollo describes prospecting, outreach, and deal management, as well as integrations and usage controls in plan material. Map the handoff to your CRM, email, and sales process before committing.
Price and usage Current public regional price and trial terms were not established. As displayed October 5, 2026, Basic was $49 per seat per month billed annually and included 30,000 credits per seat per year; terms may change. Check live local pricing and billing terms, then calculate annual seat cost, credit usage, and required add-ons.

Choose by the work your team needs to do

Evaluate Sales Navigator first if relationship-led discovery matters

  • Your prospecting starts with professional profiles and company context on LinkedIn.
  • Alerts about prospect changes or colleague connection paths are useful to your sales motion.
  • You are prepared to assess separately how you will obtain contact fields and carry out outreach; the cited LinkedIn feature material does not establish parity with Apollo’s described data-and-outreach workflow.

Evaluate Apollo first if data and outreach belong together

  • You want to assess a single platform positioned for prospecting, contact/account data, outreach, and deal management.
  • You can map your required fields and workflow to the plan’s current limits, credits, integrations, and any add-ons.
  • You can test the records in your target market before relying on them at scale; the available evidence does not independently establish accuracy.

Consider using both only when the handoff makes sense

A team could use LinkedIn-oriented discovery for relationship context and another platform for data or outreach, but the available sources do not prove that combining these subscriptions is necessary or cost-effective. First decide what each tool would contribute, how records would move between them, and whether the vendors’ current terms support that workflow.

Run a practical evaluation before subscribing

  1. Define your target. Write down the target account types, buyer roles, geography, and contact fields your team actually needs.
  2. Test discovery. Try the same representative target accounts and roles in each product. Note whether the filters and context help you identify the right people.
  3. Check records and workflow. Verify a small, representative sample of required fields and map how prospects move into your CRM, email, and outreach process. Do not infer market-wide accuracy or deliverability from a small sample.
  4. Calculate real cost. Count seats, billing cadence, credit use, and necessary add-ons. For Apollo, confirm how current credit rules apply to your intended actions; for LinkedIn, verify local pricing and trial eligibility on LinkedIn’s official site.
  5. Decide against your sales motion. Prefer the tool whose demonstrated workflow fits your prospecting process and whose verified terms fit your usage—not a claimed universal winner.

G2’s reviewer summaries can suggest questions to test, such as how useful lead targeting or contact information is in your scenario. They are self-selected user impressions, not independent accuracy tests or forecasts of your team’s results.
