Microsoft’s March 15, 2023 Message Center notice MC527924 moved Teams Meeting Add-in log files to %localappdata%TempMicrosoftTeamsmeeting-addin. Administrators should update scripts and support procedures that look for these add-in logs. The notice’s rollout dates are historical; they do not establish the status of an individual tenant today.
Where are Teams Meeting Add-in logs stored?
The destination named in MC527924 is %localappdata%TempMicrosoftTeamsmeeting-addin. It is a Windows environment-variable path: for a signed-in user, %localappdata% resolves to that user’s Local AppData directory, with Temp beneath it. The full path is therefore user-specific rather than one fixed folder shared by every account.
Microsoft’s notice said the logs “will be stored in %localappdata%TempMicrosoftTeamsmeeting-addin” and instructed IT administrators to update scripts or tooling that retrieved them from the previous location. It did not specify one universal old path, so the old location should be identified from your existing scripts or runbooks rather than assumed. MC527924 as reproduced by M365 Admin
What changed, and when?
MC527924 was issued March 15, 2023. Its schedule described planned rollout windows, not verified completion dates for any particular tenant:
#1 Best Overall
- SUPPORT WORK FROM ANYWHERE WITH SYNC: Whether employees are in the office, at home, or somewhere else, Sync device management software helps everyone stay connected by letting you ensure their Logitech video collaboration personal devices are being used and up to date.
- Open workspaces are great for collaboration, but not so great when the noise around you makes it hard to concentrate. Active noise cancellation substantially reduces unwanted ambient sound, so you can get focused and stay focused.
- Great for Music and Talking with immersive sound for listening to music and a noise-canceling mic that ensures that your voice is heard on the other end of a call—not the noise around you.
- On ear controls to adjust volume, start/end calls, and invoke Teams. Plus button controls for power, active noise cancellation (ANC), wireless Bluetooth pairing, and mute on/off or use the flip-to-mute mic feature.
- Certified for Microsoft Teams ensures it’s easy to pick-up or answer Teams meetings, calls, messages, and notifications with a single press to the Teams button. Or apply a longer touch to invoke Cortana voice skills.
| Tenant type in the notice | Planned start | Expected finish |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Mid-March 2023 | Mid-April 2023 |
| GCC, GCC High, and DoD | Mid-April 2023 | Mid-May 2023 |
These windows are past. Use current deployment documentation and the behavior of the specific environment when writing present-day instructions; the announcement alone cannot confirm when a particular tenant received the change. M365 Admin’s reproduction of MC527924

What should administrators update?
- Search scripts, scheduled monitoring jobs, runbooks, and support instructions for references to the existing Meeting Add-in log location.
- Where the workflow retrieves Meeting Add-in logs, change its target to
%localappdata%TempMicrosoftTeamsmeeting-addin. Ensure the script resolves%localappdata%for the relevant signed-in user rather than assuming the administrator’s profile is the target. - Label troubleshooting requests precisely: Meeting Add-in logs, installation/MSI logs, or user-collected Teams support files. This avoids sending users after a similarly named but unrelated log set.
- For VDI or other specialized deployments, check Microsoft’s current deployment guidance and match the path to the installation context before updating instructions.
