The announced physical GTA VI package is a box containing a download code, not a disc. Rockstar Support also lists Standard and Ultimate editions: Standard includes the game, while Ultimate adds in-game vehicles, weapons, styles, properties, and related content. The support page describes pre-loading from November 12, 2026 and notes region restrictions for some codes. Check that a code is intended for your platform and account region before buying; edition contents and code policies can change.
Rockstar previously announced a May 26, 2026 target, but later replaced it with the November 19 date. The latter is the current listed date, not a second launch window.

Online play: GTA Online is established; GTA VI’s plans are not
GTA Online is an established service associated with GTA V. Rockstar describes it as an evolving online universe, and its GTA Online content has included story material featuring GTA V protagonist Franklin, such as The Contract. Rockstar Store describes GTA Online as supporting up to 30 players; that figure applies to GTA Online, not GTA VI.
The official GTA VI material cited here does not confirm whether VI will have an online mode, when one might launch, what it would be called, or whether it would connect to GTA Online. GTA V’s online history is not evidence of a specific GTA VI feature.

What footage and promotional details do—and do not—confirm
Rockstar said its August 2026 extended look was captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5. That identifies the source of that footage; it is not a performance guarantee for the final game or for other platforms. It does not establish resolution, frame rate, loading times, or parity between systems. Rockstar’s extended-look announcement supplies the platform context.
Promotional footage can show the world and characters, but a visible activity does not by itself establish that it is a general player feature. Until Rockstar confirms more, claims about wanted levels, police behavior, weapons, businesses, mission systems, side activities, or persistent world simulation should be treated as unverified. The same applies to map-size comparisons and speculation about a PC version.
