Yes—Wizards of the Coast lists cards from the main Star Trek set as legal in all Magic: The Gathering formats. However, Star Trek Commander and stardates cards have narrower stated legality, and each format’s own rules and banned list still apply. The announced tabletop release date is November 13, 2026, so as of October 4, 2026, the cards are not yet released for ordinary tabletop play.
Which Star Trek cards can you use?
Wizards distinguishes the main Star Trek set from the Commander and stardates products. Check the set code on the card or product: the group matters when you decide whether it fits a format.

What “regular Magic games” means for format legality
Magic does not have one universal card pool for every game. Standard, Modern, Commander, Legacy, and Vintage each have their own format rules and banned lists. “Legal in all formats” is Wizards’ designation for the TRK main set, not a way around a format’s deck-building requirements or bans. Wizards notes that a card banned in one format may still be legal in another; check the Banned & Restricted list for the format you plan to play.

The “Universes Beyond” label does not by itself keep a crossover card out of regular Magic formats. Wizards’ policy says new Universes Beyond booster sets from 2025 onward are legal in all Constructed formats, while supplemental Commander content can have narrower legality. When can you play the tabletop cards?
Wizards announced November 13, 2026 as the global tabletop release date for Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek. As of October 4, 2026, the products are listed for preorder, not yet released for ordinary tabletop play. Wizards names local game stores, TCGplayer, Amazon, and other retailers as preorder channels on its official Star Trek product page. A preorder listing does not mean the cards are already available for play.

No. Tabletop format legality and whether a product appears on Magic: The Gathering Arena or Magic: The Gathering Online are separate questions. Check the relevant platform’s current product support; the tabletop legality announcement alone does not establish digital availability.
