Choose plant-based chicken by its format and the oven directions for that exact product. Frozen breaded tenders, defrosted pieces, and a dry mix that you shape need different preparation; there is no dependable category-wide baking time or temperature.
What to check before choosing
- Format and starting state: Decide whether you want breaded tenders from the freezer, pieces that need defrosting, or a mix you hydrate and shape.
- Product-specific oven directions: Look for a stated oven temperature, time, and starting condition. Prefer a product whose manufacturer gives an oven method for the product itself.
- Ingredient and allergen fit: Check the current package declaration, since ingredients and allergen information can change.
- How you plan to use it: A breaded tender, a piece to add to another dish, and a formed cutlet are different formats. The product information cited here does not establish a side-by-side taste or texture comparison.

MorningStar Farms Homestyle chik’n tenders: frozen, breaded tenders
For a straightforward frozen-to-oven option, MorningStar Farms recommends heating its Homestyle chik’n tenders on a baking sheet at 400°F for 12–14 minutes. Turn them halfway through for extra crispness, then let them rest for 3–5 minutes. The product page says to heat to at least 165°F and identifies the tenders as vegan; it lists wheat and soy. See MorningStar Farms’ product instructions and ingredient information.

TiNDLE Pieces: defrosted pieces
TiNDLE’s directions start with pieces defrosted overnight in the refrigerator, then call for baking at 350°F for 4–5 minutes. The page lists soy protein. This short timing applies to TiNDLE Pieces prepared as directed, not to plant-based chicken generally. See TiNDLE’s product page.
endori vegan Chicken Natur: a convection-oven method
endori’s professional product page says to mix the product with a little oil, spread it on a baking tray, and cook it in a convection oven at 215°C for about 6–7 minutes. The listed ingredients include wheat gluten, mycoprotein, and pea protein. Follow the convection-oven qualification rather than treating this as a direction for every oven or product. See endori’s professional product information.

JADA Plant-Based Chick’n Mix: hydrate and shape it
JADA says to combine one bag of its shelf-stable mix with one cup of water and one tablespoon of oil, then shape it as desired. Its FAQ says the mix can be cooked on the stovetop, in an oven, an air fryer, or on a grill until golden brown, but does not give a general oven time and temperature. The mix contains wheat. See JADA’s FAQ.
Do not borrow the temperature and time from JADA’s rosemary sweet-potato recipe for the chick’n: that recipe bakes the potatoes at 400°F for 15–20 minutes, while its formed chick’n fillets are pan-fried for 3–5 minutes per side. See the recipe directions.

THIS Isn’t Chicken Pieces: oven directions are not stated on the cited page
THIS describes its pieces as a vegan soy-protein product and recommends pan-frying them for 4–6 minutes. The cited product page does not give an oven method, so check the package or manufacturer’s current directions before baking rather than adapting the pan instructions. See THIS’s product page.
Quick Recap
How to bake the product you choose
- Read the current package instructions. Confirm whether the product starts frozen, refrigerated, or defrosted, and whether it needs mixing, added oil, or shaping.
- Use the stated oven setup and temperature. Do not substitute another product’s time or temperature. If the instructions specify a convection oven, use that method or find directions for your oven in the product instructions.
- Follow any turning, resting, or temperature checks. For example, MorningStar Farms specifies a halfway turn for extra crispness, a 3–5 minute rest, and a minimum internal temperature of 165°F for its tenders.
- Check ingredients and allergens on the package. The cited examples include wheat, soy, wheat gluten, mycoprotein, or pea protein in different combinations; those details are product-specific and may change.
