NVIDIA’s November 2024 upgrade renamed GeForce NOW Priority to Performance and added 1440p streaming, ultrawide support and saved in-game graphics settings without increasing the then-current monthly membership cost. The trade-off is significant for heavy users: NVIDIA’s US FAQ now gives Performance and Ultimate members 100 hours of premium playtime per month, with up to 15 unused hours rolling over. What happens after that—and whether you have an exception—depends on your membership and account history.
What changed when Priority became Performance?
In an announcement dated November 7, 2024, NVIDIA renamed its Priority membership to Performance. The upgrade brought Performance members 1440p streaming and ultrawide-resolution support, plus the ability to save in-game graphics settings across sessions, including NVIDIA RTX features in supported games. NVIDIA said the changes came with no increase to the then-current monthly membership cost. That was the price at the time of the announcement, not a guarantee of current pricing in every region. The higher resolutions and graphics options are not guaranteed for every game, device or internet connection. Check the game’s support and your device and connection capabilities before expecting a particular stream quality. A 1440p monitor is one optional way to view a 1440p stream, not a requirement for using GeForce NOW.
How many hours can Performance and Ultimate members play?
NVIDIA’s US FAQ, accessed October 4, 2026, says Performance and Ultimate memberships include 100 hours of premium playtime per month. Members can roll over up to 15 unused hours. These are current US terms; check NVIDIA’s terms for your region and account for the rules that apply to you. NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW FAQ

When NVIDIA announced the allowance in 2024, it also said 94% of members typically stayed within it. That is NVIDIA’s reported figure, not an independently verified measurement. The announcement listed additional 15-hour blocks at $2.99 for Performance and $5.99 for Ultimate at that time. Those are historical rates, not confirmed current prices; consult your account portal for any extra-hour offer and its cost. NVIDIA’s 2024 announcement
What happens when you use all your premium hours?
NVIDIA’s current US FAQ says you can buy more premium hours or continue with a basic experience until the monthly allowance resets. It also says that, beginning April 30, 2026, premium members retain access to Install-to-Play games even if they have not purchased additional playtime. That Install-to-Play provision is distinct from access to premium playtime.

Can Founders and grandfathered members still play without a limit?
The unlimited-play offer in NVIDIA’s 2024 announcement applied through 2025 to paid members who met its eligibility and continuity conditions. It should not be treated as a current general benefit. NVIDIA’s US FAQ describes separate rules for accounts with qualifying purchase or membership histories:
- Grandfathered unlimited play: For subscriptions purchased before January 15, 2026, NVIDIA says unlimited play continues only until the first billing date after January 15, 2026. The 100-hour rule applies after that billing date.
- Founders: NVIDIA says Founders memberships retain unlimited play as long as the membership does not lapse. Upgrading a Founders membership to Ultimate subjects the account to monthly limits.
Because eligibility depends on account history and current regional terms, check the membership details shown for your account rather than assuming a legacy benefit applies.

How should you weigh Performance against Ultimate?
The current US FAQ establishes the same 100-hour monthly allowance and rollover cap for both tiers, but the information available here does not establish a complete current feature-by-feature comparison or terms for every region. Before choosing, compare what NVIDIA currently shows for your account and location:
- Available stream performance and resolution for your device and games.
- The premium-hour allowance and rollover terms.
- The current cost and availability of additional hours in your account portal.
- Whether Founders or grandfathered terms apply to your account, and whether a change of membership would affect them.
NVIDIA’s membership page says a Day Pass can be used to try the service before committing to a membership. Availability and offers can vary by region, so check the live page for your location. NVIDIA’s membership page
