Samsung announced both on July 9, 2025, and began general availability on July 25, 2025. The specifications below are manufacturer figures, not independent performance or battery-test results.
Were the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 specs confirmed?
Yes, in the sense that Samsung’s published specifications later confirmed the phones’ configurations and key hardware. The original “ahead of launch” framing is now historical: Samsung announced the devices on July 9, 2025, and said sales began July 25. Samsung’s Fold7 announcement and global availability announcement establish those dates. The comparison here uses Samsung’s later published specifications; it does not establish which individual pre-launch leak first reported them or whether every leaked detail was accurate.
Galaxy Z Fold7 vs. Galaxy Z Flip7 specifications
The principal difference is the design: the Fold7 opens like a book into a tablet-sized display, whereas the Flip7 folds in half to make a compact clamshell. The table uses Samsung’s U.S. business specification sheet for the Fold7 and its global Flip7 product announcement. Configurations and availability can vary by market.

What the Fold7’s specs mean
A larger workspace, with a conventional phone-shaped cover screen
The Fold7’s 8-inch inner display is the larger option for reading, multitasking, and viewing content on an expanded screen. Its 6.5-inch cover display is intended for use while folded. At 215g and 8.9mm thick when folded, it is a substantial phone rather than a small clamshell; the U.S. sheet lists its open dimensions as 158.4 × 143.2 × 4.2mm.
Three rear cameras and a high-resolution main sensor
Samsung lists a 200MP wide camera, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. It also lists 30x Space Zoom. Those are specifications and named zoom capabilities, not evidence of image quality from an independent camera test. The phone has 10MP selfie cameras on both the cover and main displays.

U.S. storage configurations and S Pen limitation
Samsung’s U.S. business sheet lists 12GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB storage, or 16GB RAM with 1TB. It explicitly says the Fold7 does not support S Pen. The sheet also lists IP48 water resistance, Android 16, One UI 8, and seven years of OS and security updates. These are the U.S. sheet’s stated launch specifications; software features and configurations can differ by market, carrier, or later updates.
What the Flip7’s specs mean
Clamshell portability with a larger cover screen
The Flip7’s 6.9-inch inner display is smaller than the Fold7’s, but it folds to 75.2 × 85.5 × 13.7mm and weighs 188g. Its 4.1-inch cover screen supports a listed 60/120Hz refresh rate. This design prioritizes a smaller folded footprint rather than the Fold’s tablet-like screen area.

Two rear cameras and Exynos 2500
The Flip7 has a 50MP wide rear camera with optical image stabilization and a 12MP ultrawide. Samsung lists a 10MP selfie camera and the Exynos 2500 system-on-chip. Its published configurations are 12GB memory with either 256GB or 512GB internal storage.
Battery capacity and charging figures
Samsung gives the Flip7 a 4,300mAh typical battery capacity and a 4,174mAh rated capacity. It estimates up to 31 hours of video playback in internal laboratory testing under specified conditions; actual battery life depends on use and is not guaranteed to match that estimate. Samsung says a 25W adapter is sold separately and estimates about 50% charge in around 30 minutes under its stated test conditions.

Which model fits your priorities?
- Choose the Fold7 if you want the larger unfolded display, a three-camera rear system including a telephoto camera, or the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. Do not choose it expecting S Pen support.
- Choose the Flip7 if you prefer a lighter phone that folds into a shorter, pocket-friendly shape and are comfortable with a smaller inner screen and two rear cameras.
- Compare regional listings carefully if storage, color, carrier support, or software availability matters. Samsung’s Fold7 sheet is U.S.-specific, while the Flip7 specifications cited here are from a global announcement; neither guarantees identical options in every market.
Launch timing and availability
Samsung said the Fold7 and Flip7 would be available from July 25, 2025, across 49 markets, with rollout to more than 110 markets worldwide. Colors and sales channels varied by market. Samsung also reported that Blue Shadow represented nearly 40% of global preorders for each model.
