Valve says Steam Deck OLED may be out of stock intermittently in some regions because of memory and storage shortages. That warning does not mean the handheld is sold out everywhere: Valve announced on May 27, 2026, that OLED models were back in stock, while its store page continues to flag region-dependent interruptions.

Why can’t I find a Steam Deck OLED in stock?

Valve’s official Steam Deck store notice says: “Steam Deck OLED may be out-of-stock intermittently in some regions due to memory and storage shortages.” The statement identifies the cause in Valve’s terms, but does not specify which components are affected, how long the shortages will last, or which locations will see interruptions. It does not attribute the problem to AI demand or offer a restock forecast.

The notice also says the 256GB LCD Steam Deck is no longer in production. That is a separate product update; it does not mean the OLED models have been discontinued. Valve’s notice is available on the official Steam Deck store page.

Is Steam Deck OLED back in stock?

Availability depends on region and timing. Valve said on May 27, 2026, that Steam Deck OLED was back in stock. The official store page still warns that OLED models may be intermittently unavailable in some regions. The captured store page did not provide comprehensive live inventory by country, so it cannot establish whether a particular model is available where you live right now. Check the store for your region before deciding or travelling to buy one.

Can a microSD card help if stock is limited?

A microSD card can expand storage on any Steam Deck, according to Valve, and may help if your concern is fitting more games on the device. It does not address the memory or storage shortages behind the intermittent availability notice, and it cannot make an unavailable console available. Choose between the OLED configurations based on internal capacity, screen glass, and the price shown for your region.
