Safari for Mac provides a visual tab overview and organization tools, but Apple’s cited instructions do not document a text-search field for open tabs. The steps below identify where to look and which platform limits apply.

How do I search open tabs in Chrome?
- Select Tab Search in the tab strip.
- Type a keyword for the site or page you want.
- Select the matching tab to open it. You can also close a result from the list.
On a computer, open Tab Search with Ctrl+Shift+A on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+A on Mac. Alternatively, type @tabs in the address bar, press Tab or Space (or choose Search tabs from the suggestions), enter your query, and select a result. Google says Tab Search is on by default and pinned in the tab strip by default; to unpin it, use the tab strip’s context menu. Google Chrome Help
How do I search open tabs in Firefox?
- Select List all tabs at the end of the tab strip.
- Choose Search tabs in the tab overview menu.
- Enter a term and select the tab you want.
You can also type % before or after your search term in Firefox’s address bar to filter for open tabs. If Vertical Tabs is enabled, Mozilla says the List all tabs button is in the toolbar. Mozilla Support
How do I search tabs in Edge?
- Open the Search tabs menu.
- Type a keyword to find a page.
- Select a result to reopen that tab. To retrieve a recently closed page, choose it in the Recently Closed section.
Microsoft says Edge’s search includes open tabs across Edge windows, as well as recently closed tabs. It does not mix regular browsing and InPrivate results: an InPrivate search shows tabs from that same browsing mode only. The feature page says Search tabs is unavailable on mobile and that availability or functionality can vary by device type, market, and browser version. Microsoft Edge
How do I find a tab in Safari?
On a Mac, press Shift-Command-backslash to show Safari’s tab overview, then visually inspect the open pages. This is a visual overview rather than the keyword-filtered list available in Chrome, Firefox, and Edge in the cited instructions. Apple: View tabs in Safari
For pages you want to keep together, create or use Tab Groups. If you closed a tab and need it back, choose History > Recently Closed. Can I search tabs across windows?
Edge explicitly searches across open Edge windows, according to Microsoft’s feature page. The cited Chrome and Firefox instructions describe searching open tabs but do not specify cross-window coverage. Apple’s cited Safari pages describe a visual overview and do not establish text search across windows. In Edge, InPrivate and regular browsing remain separate, so results are limited to the mode in which you opened Search tabs. Microsoft Edge
