To move data from an old Android phone to a Vivo V70, start the V70’s initial setup and use Android’s Copy apps & data option. You can connect the phones with a compatible cable or transfer wirelessly. Vivo EasyShare is another phone-clone option; if the old phone is unavailable, restore a Google backup made earlier. Keep the old phone until you have checked the V70 for missing files, messages, contacts, and app content.
Before you transfer
- Charge both phones and connect them to Wi-Fi or another internet connection. Google recommends Wi-Fi and says an internet connection is required for its setup copy process. Google’s Android transfer instructions also note that copying can take from a few minutes to a few hours, depending on how much data you move.
- Check that the V70 has enough free storage. If it does not, you may need to choose which data to copy.
- Keep the old phone nearby and have its screen-lock PIN or password and your Google Account credentials ready. The wireless flow can ask for the old phone’s PIN, and EasyShare may ask for the old phone’s password or PIN.
- If you plan to use a cable, check the ports on both phones. The cable must fit both devices; you may need an adapter. Wireless transfer is also available.
Option 1: Copy data during the V70’s initial setup
This is the recommended starting point for most Android-to-Android moves. Google warns that the transfer option may not be available after setup, so begin copying when you first set up the V70.
- Turn on the Vivo V70 and follow its setup prompts. Connect it to Wi-Fi or mobile internet.
- When Copy apps & data appears, choose Copy and follow the instructions on screen.
- Choose a transfer method:
- With a cable: Connect the old phone and V70 with a compatible cable, using an adapter if needed. Follow the prompts on both phones.
- Without a cable: Choose No cable, then Transfer wirelessly on the V70. On the old phone, follow the device-setup prompt, check that the matching shapes and numbers appear, and choose what to copy.
- Leave both phones available and follow the prompts until copying finishes.
Google’s guidance states: “You can only perform data transfer once. We recommend you do this during setup as the option may not be available afterwards.” See Google’s full Android-to-Android transfer guide for its current prompts.
Option 2: Use Vivo EasyShare
Vivo describes EasyShare as a phone-cloning app for transferring personal files and data. Open EasyShare on the phones and follow the current instructions shown in the app and on the V70. On the old phone, select the data to move and tap Start Phone Clone when prompted. If the old phone has a screen lock, Vivo says you may be asked for its password or PIN to continue. Review any overwrite warning before proceeding. A general Vivo manual for another model says that data for the same apps on the new phone can be overwritten; that manual is not confirmed as V70-specific, so treat any overwrite prompt shown on your devices as important and check what it covers.
Option 3: Restore a Google backup if the old phone is unavailable
During V70 setup, choose the restore option and select an available backup associated with the old device. This works only if backup was enabled on the old phone and a usable backup exists. Depending on the situation, setup may ask for the old phone’s PIN and let you choose which data types to restore. Follow the on-screen steps and sign in to the relevant Google Account. What transfers—and what to check manually
Google says setup copying may include apps and some app data, music, photos, videos, contacts stored on the phone or SIM, text messages and their multimedia, most phone settings, wallpaper, and call history. What arrives varies by phone and Android version.
Some items are not copied by the setup transfer. Check these on the V70 and move or restore them separately if needed:

- Downloads such as PDFs and media in hidden folders
- Apps installed outside Google Play
- Data from apps that do not use Android backup
- Non-Google accounts and their data
- Contacts or calendars synced with other services
- Ringtones and certain settings
For WhatsApp, Google says chats and data can be restored from the cloud after you sign in to the new Android phone and open WhatsApp, provided WhatsApp backup was enabled on the old phone first. Other apps may have their own backup, sign-in, or restore steps, so check important apps individually.
Android transfer and Vivo One-Tap Transfer are different features
The V70 product page advertises One-Tap Transfer for sharing photos, videos, and files between a Vivo device and an iPhone. Vivo lists iPhone 12 or later, iOS 17 or later, and EasyShare iPhone app version 5.4 or later for that feature. It is not the documented method for migrating from an old Android phone to the V70. Choosing a transfer method

If you choose Google’s wired route, a USB-C-to-USB-C cable may be suitable only if both phones have compatible ports and the cable supports data transfer. An older Android phone may need a different cable or adapter. Since Google also supports wireless transfer, buying a cable is not necessary for everyone.

- Open the V70’s Photos or file manager and check that important photos, videos, and downloads are present.
- Confirm that contacts, text messages, and call history you need have arrived.
- Open important apps, sign in, and verify their content. Complete any app-specific restore steps, including WhatsApp’s cloud restore if applicable.
- Confirm access to accounts that use extra security, such as two-step verification, before removing the old phone.
Do not erase or trade in the old phone until you have confirmed that the V70 contains the data you need.
