A documented cyberpunk corset build by AmieDD combines 3D-printed spikes attached to fabric with NeoPixel lighting that reacts to movement. It is a maker project—not a commercially available finished corset or a garment tested for production use. The tutorial’s components and settings describe that build specifically, rather than universal recommendations.
How the light-up corset works
The design joins two kinds of elements: printed spikes mounted on conventional fabric, and wearable electronics that animate LEDs when the wearer makes a shake gesture. That distinction matters: the documented project prints the decorative spikes and attaches them to fabric; it does not establish that spikes are printed directly onto the corset fabric.
The tutorial also describes separate shoulder pieces with surface-mount LEDs, a push button, and a CR2016 coin cell. These are distinct from the main NeoPixel lighting setup.

Build considerations from the tutorial
Printed spike settings
For this particular build, the tutorial reports a 0.2 mm layer height, 1 mm shell wall, three wall lines, 10% infill, and a print speed of 50 mm/s. Treat these as the creator’s reported settings for the Ultimaker S5 and transparent CPE build, not as validated settings for another printer, filament, spike geometry, or garment.
Uploading the controller code
The project author warns: “Make sure your Micro USB Cable is for data transfer, some micro usb cables are just for charging and don’t transfer data, you won’t be able to upload the code to the Circuit Playground.” This is a programming connection issue, not an electrical safety statement.

Can you 3D-print spikes onto fabric?
This example answers the question in a qualified way: it uses 3D-printed spikes attached to fabric. That is different from printing flexible or fabric-like structures, or printing an appliqué directly onto cloth. A 2013 design research paper describes tests of flexible printable material using a textile tensile-test method and the creation of a corselet, a corset, and a connector intended to join materials; it does not establish consumer performance or safety for this costume. Another possible construction route is printing a flexible 3D appliqué directly onto fabric, as described in a Raspberry Pi wearable project resource for an LED jacket. How the separate Adafruit spikes design differs
Adafruit’s Cyberpunk Spikes guide is a related wearable-lighting design, not the same corset. It uses flexible NinjaFlex filament to diffuse light, a Gemma-family wearable microcontroller, 60 LEDs-per-meter NeoPixel strip, a 500 mAh LiPo battery, a slide switch, a JST extension, magnets, and sewing or attachment supplies. These are separate bills of materials and design approaches. The Adafruit battery, filament, and modular attachment components should not be treated as substitutions already tested in the corset.
