The Anycubic Photon Mono M5s is a 12K resin printer whose main distinction from the Photon Mono M5 is not screen resolution, but a manufacturer-described leveling-free system, hardware checks, and higher advertised speeds under specific conditions. Its stated build area is 200 × 218 × 123 mm. Anycubic’s US store listed it at $609 and sold out on October 4, 2026; that is a changeable store snapshot, not a measure of availability elsewhere.
This is a specifications-based review, not a hands-on test. The available product, comparison, and support information comes from Anycubic, so speed and feature descriptions below are manufacturer claims rather than independent performance findings.
What the Photon Mono M5s offers
Anycubic specifies a 10.1-inch monochrome 12K LCD with a resolution of 11,520 × 5,120 pixels, 19-micron X accuracy, a 480:1 contrast ratio, and a typical screen lifespan of 2,000 hours. Its stated build dimensions are 200 × 218 × 123 mm (HWD), with a listed volume of 5.4 L. These are manufacturer specifications, not independently measured results. Other listed hardware includes a 100 W rated power supply, USB Type-A 2.0 and Wi-Fi data input, a 4.3-inch touch panel, a removable UV-blocking cover, and replaceable oversized anti-scratch film. The product page also lists auto device check, resin detection, and print-status detection. Those are described functions, not guarantees that a print will succeed.

Does the M5s need leveling?
Anycubic markets the M5s as leveling-free. It describes a floating-platform arrangement with internal sensors; its launch explanation says a mechanical sensor detects the fit between the printing platform and floating leveling module. That explains the intended mechanism, but it does not establish that every machine or print will be free of setup problems. How fast does it print?
Anycubic advertised average speeds of 70 mm/h with general resin and 105 mm/h with high-speed resin. The higher figure is conditional: the product-page footnote specifies Photon Workshop 3.1 or later, Anycubic High Speed Resin, 0.1 mm layer thickness, and 2 mm shell perforation and extraction; Anycubic labels the lab data “for reference only.” These figures are not independent speed tests. Anycubic warns: “If the file was sliced in high-speed mode, please use high-speed resin for printing. Otherwise, printing will fail.” Treat that as the manufacturer’s operating instruction: do not pair a high-speed-mode slice with ordinary resin.
Photon Mono M5s vs. M5

For the M5s high-speed figure, Anycubic specifies Photon Workshop 3.1 or later, high-speed resin, 0.1 mm layers, and 2 mm shell perforation and extraction; the company labels the lab result “for reference only.”
Manuals, firmware, and resin settings
Anycubic’s support page lists a Photon Mono M5s manual (v0.0.7 in several languages), firmware versions 1.0.4.0 and 1.0.2.1, and test files for default and high-speed resin modes. Its resin-settings page gives M5s parameters that vary by resin and layer height. Use the M5s-specific profile rather than copying values from another Photon printer. Before updating, confirm with official support which firmware applies to your machine revision.

Price and availability
Anycubic’s 2023 launch announcement set an early-bird preorder price of $399 in the US and €399 in Europe. Those were historical launch offers, not current prices. On October 4, 2026, the manufacturer’s US product page displayed $609 and marked the printer sold out. Its headline speed is relevant only if you use the specified high-speed workflow.
