For Panda Express portion sizes, calories, sodium, and listed allergens, use the restaurant’s official Nutrition & Allergen information. Its figures describe standard recipes and serving methods—not a guaranteed measurement of every order. Panda also says shared preparation equipment and areas mean it cannot guarantee any item is free of major FDA allergens or other ingredients that may cause a reaction.
How many calories are in a Panda Express plate?
There is no single calorie total for a Plate: the total depends on the base and entrees selected, as well as any add-ons, sauces, and drink. Check the current item-level chart and add the listed values for the components you choose. Panda’s homepage and a Los Angeles location page show a “Bowl, Plate, or Bigger Plate with a Medium Fountain Drink” bundle, but the displayed calorie ranges differ, so a bundle label is not a universal fixed total.
| Official page | Displayed bundle calorie range |
|---|---|
| Panda Express homepage | 280–2,800 calories per serving |
| NWC Figueroa St & Ave 26 location menu | 280–2,560 calories |
These are ranges displayed on those specific pages, not a promise that every location offers the same combinations. For a useful estimate, total the values for the items actually selected.
How big is a serving, and what are the nutrition values?
Panda’s nutrition table lists standard portions and values for items. Examples from its official information are below; they are listed values, not measurements of every hand-served order.

Panda says actual nutrition can differ because of supplier and ingredient differences, serving portions, preparation, cooking methods and equipment, regional and seasonal differences, and natural variation. The figures above are the values shown in Panda’s official nutrition information; the retrieved page does not show a publication year.
What ingredients are in Panda Express food?
Ingredients differ by menu item, so check the current item-level information for the specific dish rather than treating the menu as having one ingredient list. Panda’s Nutrition & Allergen page says, “No MSG added, except for that naturally occurring in certain ingredients.” That statement is from Panda Express, not a claim that the food contains no naturally occurring MSG.
Rank #2
The same page notes that its food is handcrafted and made in small batches, and that actual nutritional content may differ from the values provided. Regional, seasonal, test, and limited-time items may not be available everywhere or represented in the information you are viewing.
Does Panda Express have allergen information?
Yes. Panda’s Nutrition & Allergen information includes item-level allergen information. Panda says it uses ingredients containing all major FDA allergens: peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, fish, shellfish, milk, soy, wheat, and sesame. It also warns that other ingredients may cause reactions for some people.
Rank #3
Use the chart to identify listed allergens in a particular item, but do not interpret a listing as a guarantee about how an order is prepared or handled.
Can Panda Express prevent cross-contamination?
Panda says menu items are prepared with shared cooking equipment, preparation areas, serving utensils, and storage areas. As a result, allergens may be present in any item, and Panda cannot guarantee that a menu item is free of major FDA allergens or other ingredients that may trigger a reaction. Delivery can add cross-contact risks during handling and transportation.
Rank #4
If you have a specific allergy or ingredient concern, contact Panda directly at 800-877-8988 or through Panda Express contact. A direct inquiry can help clarify available information, but it does not remove the shared-preparation risk or create an allergen-free guarantee.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How should I compare a Bowl, Plate, Bigger Plate, or family meal?
Compare the components rather than relying on the meal-format name. For each option, check the selected base, entree portions, add-ons, sauces, and drink against the current item-level nutrition chart. Check the allergen column for the chosen items and confirm availability with the location, since offerings can vary regionally, seasonally, and by test or limited-time release.
