You can also copy data during Android’s first-run setup or restore a Google backup. The available screens and options vary by Vivo model, Android version and source phone. Keep your old phone until you have checked the new one.
Before you start
Prepare both phones so you can complete the transfer without losing access to the old device:
- Charge both phones and make sure you can unlock the old one with its PIN, pattern or password.
- Connect to Wi-Fi for Android’s setup copy or Google backup restore. Google notes that setup steps can vary by device: Android Help: Copy apps and data from an Android device.
- Back up the old Android phone before beginning, if possible.
- Leave the old phone intact. Do not erase, trade in or recycle it until you have checked the new phone.
Choose a transfer method

For another option, Vivo’s manual describes PC backup and restore, but the procedure and supported data can depend on the Vivo model and software version: Vivo Support.
Transfer with Vivo EasyShare Phone Clone
- On both phones, open EasyShare. If it is not available, check whether it is offered for your model and region.
- On the old phone, choose Old phone. On the Vivo, choose New phone.
- Use the old phone to scan the QR code displayed by the Vivo, then follow any pairing or permission prompts.
- Select the data categories you want to move and start Phone Clone. Keep the phones available and wait for the transfer to finish.
- Check the transferred data on the Vivo. If apps did not install automatically, Vivo directs users to install them from Files > Apps. Menu labels can vary by model and software version. Vivo cautions: “Due to the permission limitation, the Apps transferred might not be installed on your phone automatically.” Vivo EasyShare support.
EasyShare’s transfer-without-mobile-data claim applies to its transfer utility; do not confuse it with Android’s setup process, which can require an internet connection.

Copy data during Android setup or restore a backup
If the Vivo is new or has been reset, Android’s first-run setup can offer a direct copy from the old phone or a Google backup restore. Follow the prompts on the Vivo; exact steps differ by device. Google’s guide covers copying from an Android phone and restoring a prior account backup: Copy apps and data from an Android device and Back up or restore data on your Android device.
- Start the Vivo and connect it to a network when setup asks.
- Choose the option to copy apps and data, then select direct transfer from the old device or restore from a Google backup if offered.
- For a direct copy, follow the pairing instructions and unlock or authenticate on the old phone when prompted. For a backup, sign in to the Google account that holds the backup and select the available backup.
- Wait for setup and copying to complete before assessing what arrived. A compatible cable or connector adapter may be needed for a wired transfer; check the ports on both phones and whether your existing cable fits before buying anything.
Move from an iPhone to a Vivo
During Android setup, follow the new phone’s iPhone-copy prompt. Google documents both cable and wireless methods, but which one is available depends on the device and transfer method. Keep both phones connected until copying finishes and turn off iMessage as Google instructs: Switch from iPhone to Android.

Do not assume every iPhone item or app will move. Google’s documented process excludes iCloud photos and videos, paid apps and in-app purchases, Safari bookmarks and Health data. EasyShare does not support transferring iOS app data; check Google’s guide for the supported data and method-specific details.
What transfers—and what may need attention
A Google Android backup can include apps and app data, call history, contacts, device settings and SMS/MMS. However, not all apps back up or restore all their data. Photos and videos are backed up through Google Photos when that service is in use. Check what is included in Google’s backup guidance: Back up or restore data on your Android device.

- Apps: EasyShare may transfer app files without installing them automatically; use Files > Apps if needed. Some apps may require a fresh download or separate sign-in.
- App-specific data and accounts: Transfer does not guarantee that an app’s private data, credentials or login session will carry over. Open priority apps and sign in as needed.
- Android-version compatibility: A Google backup made on a higher Android version may not restore completely to a phone running a lower version.
- iPhone content: Supported items vary by method and device; consult Google’s migration guide for exclusions before relying on a transfer for specific content.
Verify the Vivo before wiping the old phone
Use the new phone for a quick, deliberate check before erasing or handing over the old one:
- Check contacts and messages.
- Open photos and videos, and inspect important downloads or files.
- Open priority apps, confirm their data is present where expected, and sign in if required.
- Confirm that you can access the accounts and services you rely on from the Vivo.
If something important is missing, keep the old phone available and use the relevant app’s own backup or recovery process where applicable. Only erase the old device after you are satisfied that the information you need is accessible on the Vivo.
