Choose an Intel Arc card by checking how it performs in the games and settings you actually use, then confirm it fits your PC and budget. Intel’s current B-Series desktop options include the Arc B580 with 12GB of dedicated memory and the B570 with 10GB; those capacities help describe the cards, but do not tell you which will run your games faster.

Start with your games, resolution, and settings

Make a short list of the games you play most and the resolution you want to use—typically 1080p or 1440p. For each game, look for independent tests of the specific Arc model at that resolution and settings. Average frame rate is useful, but 1% low results can help indicate how smooth performance is during demanding moments. Check ray-tracing results only if you plan to enable ray tracing.

Benchmarks are specific to the games, graphics presets, drivers, and test systems used. For context, TechRadar’s 2026 budget-card roundup reports the B580 at 76 average FPS and 51 FPS 1% lows at 1080p, and 59 average FPS and 41 FPS 1% lows at 1440p in its own test suite. These figures describe those tests, not a guaranteed result in your games or PC. See TechRadar’s test context.

Compare the B580 and B570 on evidence, not memory alone

Intel’s December 2024 B-Series launch document lists 12GB of dedicated GPU memory for the B580 and 10GB for the B570. More memory can be relevant to games and settings that use substantial video memory, but capacity alone does not establish frame rate or overall value. Compare independent results in your games before choosing between them.

Check whether your PC supports the card properly

Intel says Resizable BAR (ReBAR) or AMD Smart Access Memory (SAM) must be enabled for optimal performance in applications using B-Series graphics. Confirm your processor, motherboard, and firmware support the feature, and check that it is enabled in the system firmware.

Intel’s desktop quick-start guidance also advises UEFI boot with a GPT-partitioned system drive and Compatibility Support Module (CSM) disabled. If your PC is configured for legacy BIOS/MBR boot, changing boot mode may require preparation; do not switch firmware settings casually on a system that is already installed. Consult your motherboard and operating-system guidance first.

Power needs and physical fit depend on the exact card, including its board-partner design. Before ordering, verify the particular SKU’s power-supply recommendation, PCIe power connectors, length, thickness and case clearance, plus available motherboard-slot space and cooling. Do not assume a requirement listed for one Arc model applies to another. Intel’s desktop quick-start guide describes supported configurations and directs buyers to check the requirements for the specific card.

Decide whether XeSS features matter to you

Intel describes XeSS 3 as a suite that includes XeSS Super Resolution, XeSS Frame Generation, Multi Frame Generation on Intel hardware, and Xe Low Latency. These features are not a universal switch that works in every game: the game must implement the feature, and support can vary by hardware and graphics API. Check the specific game’s settings or documentation for the XeSS features you want before treating them as a reason to buy.

Intel’s developer documentation says XeSS 3 runs most efficiently on Arc A-Series and B-Series discrete GPUs and outlines support differences across DirectX 11, DirectX 12, and Vulkan. That is vendor feature guidance, not a promise of a fixed frame-rate gain. Review Intel’s XeSS 3 developer documentation. Intel also promotes hardware ray tracing and XeSS in its Arc overview; those feature descriptions should not be mistaken for independent performance tests.

Use this buying checklist for the exact card

  • Find independent benchmarks for your games, target resolution, and intended graphics settings.
  • Compare average FPS and 1% lows; consider ray tracing only if you plan to use it.
  • Compare the B580 and B570’s memory capacities alongside measured performance, rather than using capacity as a performance proxy.
  • Confirm ReBAR or SAM support and enabled status, plus UEFI/GPT and CSM configuration.
  • Check the exact partner-board SKU’s power recommendation, connectors, dimensions, cooling, and warranty.
  • Verify the current local price, stock, seller, and return terms; launch prices are historical.
  • For XeSS, confirm that your game supports the specific feature you intend to use.
