It is not especially light or thin, and battery life depends heavily on whether you run one screen or both. The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i (14-inch, Gen 10) is the main alternative for a thin convertible design, but its keyboard and folio stand travel separately. For gaming-first buyers, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo (2026) is a specialist option with cost and battery trade-offs.

Why choose the ASUS Zenbook DUO for travel multitasking?
Two screens without packing a separate monitor
The Zenbook DUO is the most straightforward pick if your aim is to reproduce part of a home multi-monitor setup on the move. Tom’s Guide’s Darragh Murphy describes it this way: “The Zenbook Duo is for those who love the multi-monitor setup they have at home and want something similar on the go.” That is an editorial description of its intended appeal, not a guarantee that every two-screen workflow will suit a compact travel table.
Two built-in displays can keep reference material visible while you write, compare documents side by side, or leave a chat or notes window open beside your main task. The benefit is greatest when you regularly switch between applications and can position the machine on a stable surface. On a train tray or crowded shared table, the added screen area may be less useful if there is not enough room to place the laptop comfortably.

Battery figures depend on test conditions
ASUS lists a 99 Wh dual-battery design for the UX8407 and estimates up to 12 hours of web browsing and up to 18 hours of local video playback with both displays active. Those are manufacturer estimates, not guaranteed runtimes. Independent results differ: IT Pro measured 13 hours 28 minutes in an HD video rundown with both screens active, and 25 hours 55 minutes with one screen active. Tom’s Guide reports 11 hours 13 minutes in dual-screen mode. These reviews do not establish identical test methods or configurations, so their results should not be treated as a controlled head-to-head comparison.
For a workday away from an outlet, look for testing of the exact configuration and note whether both panels remained on. A one-screen result cannot stand in for two-screen use, and a manufacturer estimate is not directly interchangeable with a review’s battery loop test.

Ports and physical bulk
ASUS lists two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, USB-A and HDMI for the 2026 UX8407. That mix can reduce the need for an adapter when connecting common peripherals or an external display, though the usefulness of each port depends on your devices. A review reports a weight of 1.65 kg and thickness above 23 mm, so factor the actual machine into a bag already carrying a charger and accessories.
When the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i makes more sense
A thin convertible, with a separate travel kit
The Yoga Book 9i (14-inch, Gen 10) is the alternative to consider if you value a thin convertible arrangement and flexible screen use. Lenovo’s product material lists the laptop at 1.22 kg / 2.69 lb. That figure is for the laptop, however: Windows Central notes that its keyboard and folio stand are separate pieces to carry. Compare the complete kit in your bag rather than assuming the chassis weight represents the travel setup.

Plan connections around the ports
Windows Central describes the Yoga Book 9i as having three Thunderbolt 4 ports and notes that some combinations of peripherals may require a dock. If leaving adapters at home is important, list the devices you expect to connect—such as storage, a mouse or a presentation display—and verify that the exact configuration supports them at once.
Confirm the generation and configuration
Lenovo’s 14-inch, Gen 10 product material is the basis for this comparison. Check the precise regional SKU, included accessories and current availability before buying: a similarly named model or a listing from another generation may not match these details.

Who should consider the ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo?
The ROG Zephyrus Duo (2026) is for a reader whose main reason to buy is gaming or high-performance work, with the second display as an added capability. TechRadar’s review flags its price and battery life as drawbacks and points to the Yoga Book 9i as a less costly everyday dual-screen choice without a dedicated GPU. That makes the ROG a poor fit if low cost, light travel or long unplugged work sessions are your priorities. Check the exact SKU and its power requirements before treating it as a travel computer.
How to choose a dual-screen laptop for your trips
- Decide how often both screens will be useful. If your work regularly involves cross-referencing, writing alongside source material or keeping a second window visible, an integrated second display may earn its space. If you mostly use one app at a time, a conventional laptop may be the more practical carry.
- Weigh the complete setup. Include the laptop, keyboard, stand or folio, charger, and any dock or adapters. This is especially important for the Yoga Book 9i because its keyboard and stand are separate carry items.
- Check battery evidence for two-screen use. Look for an independent test that states whether both displays were active, and distinguish that result from a manufacturer estimate or a one-screen test.
- Match ports to your actual devices. Compare the ports on the exact SKU with the peripherals you plan to use. A dock can solve a port shortage, but it adds another item to pack.
- Verify the exact regional model and price. Confirm generation, configuration, included accessories, stock and current price before purchase. Tom’s Guide listed a $2,099 starting price in its 2026 buying guide; that is a guide-era starting figure, not a guaranteed current or region-wide price.
Verdict: the best fit depends on the whole travel setup
Choose the Zenbook DUO UX8407 if you want the most self-contained two-screen setup for general work and can accept its measured size and variable two-screen battery results. Choose the Yoga Book 9i Gen 10 if its thin convertible layout matters more and carrying the separate keyboard and folio stand is acceptable. Consider the ROG Zephyrus Duo only when gaming or high-performance use is central enough to justify its cost and battery compromises.
