Hamza Khalid’s Hackster.io project describes a tablet control page, a WIZnet WIZ750SR serial-to-Ethernet connection, Arduino-based robot hardware, and a Python program that converts the message to speech. The page documents the intended design and parts—not independently tested performance or a validated workplace deployment.
What Robo Hazel is designed to do
Hamza Khalid described Robo Hazel as a robot prototype intended to address message delivery in an Industry 4.0 context. In the project description, the user enters text on a control page; the robot follows a line from its starting position to a destination, then speaks the message. The author says a Python program receives the text and converts it to speech while the robot moves. These are the operation and purpose reported on the Hackster.io project page, published July 28, 2018, not results from a performance study.
How the message reaches the robot
The documented message path
- Enter a message: A user types text on the project’s control page, which the listed parts indicate is accessed with a tablet PC.
- Send it over the network: The creator identifies the WIZnet WIZ750SR serial-to-Ethernet module as the link used to get the message to the robot.
- Move to the endpoint: The robot follows a line from its initial position to the final spot.
- Speak the text: The project says a Python program converts the received text to speech; after reaching the endpoint, the robot announces it.
What S2E means here
WIZnet describes its Serial-to-Ethernet products generally as gateways that convert UART serial interfaces—TTL, RS-232, or RS-422/485—to TCP/IP for remote measurement, management, and control. That explains the category’s role, but the particular interface, network protocol, and configuration in Robo Hazel should be understood from the creator’s project documentation rather than assumed from the general product description. See WIZnet’s Serial-to-Ethernet overview.
Do not confuse the WIZ750SR named in Robo Hazel with WIZnet’s separately documented WIZ550S2E. The latter is described in WIZnet’s WIZ550S2E repository as based on the W5500 and Cortex-M0; it is a different module.

What to verify before adapting the design
The published inventory is a starting point, not a tested build recipe. Before wiring or substituting components, check the relevant hardware documentation and confirm:
- The exact WIZ750SR interface variant and its serial settings, including logic levels.
- Which Arduino board handles each task and which serial interface or pins are available for the module.
- The L298N board’s voltage and current limits against the motors’ requirements.
- How the battery is connected and whether its arrangement suits the motors, controller, and logic electronics.
- The sensor wiring and placement used for line following.
Board-specific electrical ratings matter. For example, WIZnet’s separate WizArduino M0 ETH documentation specifies 3.3 V operation and warns that more than 3.3 V at its I/O could damage that board. That is not the Arduino UNO listed for Robo Hazel, so its rating must not be transferred to the project’s UNO boards.

What the project page does—and does not—establish
The Hackster.io page documents a concept, workflow, and parts list. It does not provide measured delivery speed, speech or message accuracy, reliability data, a full reproducible electrical analysis, or a comparison against alternative components. Nor does the documentation establish that the prototype was validated for routine workplace use or certified for safety. Treat claims about operation as the creator’s description, not a guarantee that a replica will behave the same way.
