Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve has an official main-theme single, “Everflow,” and a limited physical vinyl collection—but the official sources cited here do not establish that a complete digital game soundtrack is available. For comparison, the strongest official listening touchpoints span Ace Combat 2, 04, 5, Zero, 6 and 7. Which score is “best” depends on what you value: a memorable theme, mission-driving intensity, or how the music works in the game.

What is available from the Ace Combat 8 soundtrack?

Bandai Namco Game Music announced that “ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE Main Theme – Everflow,” credited to Sara Parkman and PROJECT ACES, would be released worldwide as a one-track streaming single on September 17, 2026. That release establishes access to the main theme, not to the full game score. Bandai Namco Game Music’s release announcement identifies it as a single.

The official product page also lists a physical soundtrack collection. The official store describes two white LPs containing a selection of 15 tracks, packaged with a printed slipmat and the “ACES at WAR A HISTORY 2029” artbook. The store says the collection is limited to 2,999 units worldwide and exclusive to its official store; the page showed waitlist status when accessed in 2026, so availability may have changed. The official store listing has the product details, while the official ACE COMBAT 8 product page lists the collection.

How to compare Ace Combat scores

There is no objective ranking in the official release pages. A useful comparison is to choose a listening criterion and sample identifiable tracks, rather than treating an anniversary release or larger track count as proof of quality. The series’ official anniversary concert connects several eras: its live program includes material from Ace Combat 2, 04, 5, Zero, 6 and 7. Keiki Kobayashi, identified by the official page as the series’ main composer, conducted the concert. The concert album page documents its repertoire and live presentation.

  • For a memorable theme: compare how strongly a piece’s central melody stays with you after listening.
  • For mission energy: pay attention to rhythm, intensity and how the cue sustains momentum.
  • For dramatic contrast: listen for changes in mood and scale across tracks, rather than judging a score by one cue alone.
  • For sound and arrangement: distinguish original soundtrack releases from live orchestral performances, remixes and remasters. They present the music differently.

Which older Ace Combat scores make the best comparisons?

These are useful starting points, not a claim that any one entry is universally best. The titles below are available as track references on the official anniversary concert album; its performances are live arrangements, not a substitute for the original game recordings.

Ace Combat 2: a series-era starting point

Try “Lightning Speed” and “Warning Line.” They offer a way to hear material from an earlier period of the series alongside later entries in the anniversary concert’s live format. The official concert tracklist lists both.

Ace Combat 04: The shaping of a dramatic set

For Ace Combat 04, the concert includes “Blockade,” “Stonehenge + Invincible Fleet,” “Megalith – Agnus Dei –,” and “Blue Skies.” Sampling several rather than relying on a single title makes for a more balanced comparison of the entry’s represented material. The track names alone do not establish where each piece appears in the game. The official concert album page lists the performances.

Ace Combat 5: themes and contrast

“First Flight,” “The Unsung War,” and “The Journey Home” are the official concert’s Ace Combat 5 touchpoints. Listen to the three as a small set if you want to compare different kinds of dramatic function, while keeping in mind that the concert page identifies the tracks but does not provide enough context to assign specific in-game scenes. The official tracklist includes all three.

Ace Combat Zero: the clearest catalogue deep dive

The 2026 remastered Ace Combat Zero soundtrack is a substantial option for focused listening: Bandai Namco Game Music says it contains 45 tracks, including “GALM 2” and “EPILOGUE – NEAR THE BORDER –,” which the label says had not previously been available on digital streaming platforms. The announcement does not establish that every track is available in every region or service. Bandai Namco Game Music’s 2026 release announcement gives the track count and availability context.

The anniversary concert offers a different Zero sample, with “The Round Table” and “Morgan + ZERO.” Because that is a live concert recording, use it to hear a performance arrangement rather than to make a direct recording-quality comparison with the remaster. The concert listing names both tracks.

Ace Combat 7: a recent-entry benchmark

The concert program includes “Magic Spear I,” “Enchanter I,” and “Daredevil.” These provide identifiable Ace Combat 7 comparisons for a listener deciding whether the new main theme lands closer to the musical world of the most recent prior entry or to earlier favorites. The official concert page lists the pieces.

Where can you listen to older Ace Combat music?

Bandai Namco Game Music lists multiple older game soundtracks for streaming or download, including Ace Combat 2, Ace Combat 3 electrosphere, Ace Combat 5, Zero, 6, Joint Assault and Ace Combat 7. The catalogue also includes a series remix album and anniversary concert recordings. Which services carry a release can vary by region. The official label catalogue is the place to check current listings; the concert recordings are described on the anniversary album page.

For a broader but shorter sampler, Bandai Namco Entertainment America said its “ACE COMBAT Original Soundtrack,” available from July 1, 2025, curated 19 tracks from across the series. That release is a curated selection, so it should not be confused with a complete collection of the games’ scores. The publisher’s 2025 announcement gives the scope and release date.

Which Ace Combat game has the best soundtrack?

There is no official ranking that settles the question, and the available release information cannot establish a fan or critics’ consensus. A practical answer is to name your criterion: choose the score whose themes you remember, whose music best supports the kind of drama you prefer, or whose full catalogue you most enjoy exploring. For a large official digital listening point, start with Zero’s 45-track 2026 remaster; for a cross-era live sampler, use the 20-track anniversary concert album. Those counts describe release size, not musical quality. The label’s announcement gives both figures.
