Expiration, excluded items, a minimum spend, redemption limits, or a rule against combining deals can all prevent a valid code from working. The exact restrictions vary by restaurant and offer, so use the terms shown with your coupon as the deciding guide.
Check these offer details first
Open the coupon or promotion details and compare them with the order you are trying to place. Check:
- Expiry and redemption limit: Confirm the offer is still valid and has not reached a stated redemption cap.
- Eligible items and minimum spend: Check that the cart contains the required products and meets any minimum subtotal. Arby’s support specifically advises checking the products in the bag and criteria such as a subtotal minimum: Arby’s Contact Us.
- Location: Confirm the selected restaurant participates. Some offers are limited by region or location, and availability can vary over time; see Jollibee’s U.S. promotions and coupons help.
- Order channel: Check whether the offer applies to in-store purchases, the restaurant’s app or website, or a delivery platform. Do not assume an offer works through every channel.
- Use and combination rules: Look for per-person, per-visit, or per-transaction limits, and whether another coupon or promotion blocks the discount.
- Account requirements: Check whether you must sign in to the rewards account associated with the offer.
Match the offer to your ordering channel
A coupon may be valid only through a particular ordering path. For example, Chipotle’s Build Your Own offer terms specify ordering through Chipotle’s website or mobile app and exclude in-restaurant, catering, and third-party platform orders. The terms state that the offer is valid for orders placed and fulfilled from January 6 through December 31, 2026, or until 100,000 redemptions, whichever comes first. They also limit the discount to one per transaction and prohibit combining it with other coupons or promotions. Because those dates and redemption limits are specific to this offer, check its live terms before relying on them.
If you are ordering through a delivery platform, check whether the promo code is intended for that platform or for the restaurant itself. Uber Eats provides guidance for codes that do not apply in its help article, “My promo code didn’t apply.” A restaurant-specific code should not be assumed to work on a third-party service.

Check your account, location, and cart
Sign in to the right account
Some app offers are tied to a rewards account. Jollibee says app offers appear at checkout for customers signed in to a Rewards account. McDonald’s help also recommends checking that you are logged in and that location services are enabled. If a deal is missing, verify both before rebuilding your order.
Make sure the cart qualifies
Review the required items and the subtotal against the offer terms. A cart can fall short if an item is excluded or if the qualifying subtotal is below the required minimum. Also check whether the offer applies before or after other discounts, if the terms explain that distinction.

Remove a conflicting offer
Many promotions cannot be combined. If the checkout already has another coupon or deal selected, remove it and try the intended offer again. Jollibee’s general promotion guidance and Chipotle’s offer terms both describe non-combination restrictions; the rule for your order is the one attached to your specific offer.
Apply the deal at the required step
Some offers must be selected or added in a particular part of checkout rather than entered as a code. For McDonald’s Mobile Order & Pay deals, the help center directs customers to use the “Add to Mobile Order” control when it is available. Follow the instructions on the offer screen, then confirm the discount appears in the order total before paying.

If a QR code will not scan
For a McDonald’s “Scan at Restaurant” deal, the help center says the selected QR code is active for 15 minutes. If it will not scan, show the displayed four-character code to a crew member at the counter or drive-through. McDonald’s also says, “You can only redeem one deal per person, per visit.” These are McDonald’s rules, not universal rules for other restaurants; follow the instructions for the specific offer you are using. What to send support if it still fails
If the offer still does not apply after you check its terms and order, contact the restaurant or ordering platform. Include enough detail to identify the mismatch:

- Whether the order is in-store, on the restaurant’s app or website, or through a delivery platform.
- The cart items and qualifying subtotal.
- Whether you are signed in to the relevant rewards account and whether another offer is selected.
These details help support check the offer against the order. Whether staff or support can resolve the issue depends on the restaurant, platform, and promotion terms; an override is not guaranteed.
