For future deliveries, edit the phone number saved with the shipping address in Your Account → Your Addresses. If you mean the phone number on your Amazon account, change it under Your Account → Login & Security instead. These are separate settings, and changing an address-book entry does not update an open order.
Change the phone number on a saved delivery address
Use this setting when you want a different number associated with a particular shipping address for future orders.
- Sign in to Amazon and open Your Account → Your Addresses.
- Find the delivery address and select Edit.
- Update the phone number, make any other needed address changes, and select Update address.
- When placing a future order, choose the edited address at checkout. Amazon may ask you to confirm your payment card the next time you order using a new or edited address. Amazon’s address help explains the address-edit process.
The exact controls can vary by marketplace and app version. If you do not see the same labels, look for the address-management section in Your Account.
Change the phone number on your Amazon account
If you want to change the number associated with the account itself, rather than a delivery address, open Your Account → Login & Security. Select Edit beside the relevant account information, follow the on-screen instructions, and save. This path is documented in Amazon UK’s account-settings help; labels can differ on other Amazon marketplaces.

What to do if the order has already been placed
Editing a saved address does not change shipping details on an open order, according to Amazon’s US address help. Check the order itself rather than assuming the new number has been applied.
- Open Your Orders, select the order, then open Order Details.
- If the order has not entered the shipping process, look for Change beside an editable detail and follow the available options. Not every order offers every change, and some controls may not be available on mobile.
- If the phone number cannot be changed there, contact Amazon for guidance. If the order has shipped, check with the carrier; Amazon’s order-change guidance directs customers to the carrier for address changes after shipment.
Amazon’s help does not establish that every existing order allows its contact phone number to be edited, so rely on the options shown for that specific order.

Find delivery updates and tracking details
In Your Orders, find the order and select Track package. On Amazon’s tracking page, All updates includes delivery updates and tracking numbers. Some third-party shipments may show limited tracking if the seller has not supplied tracking information or the shipping method is not trackable. See Amazon’s tracking help.
Amazon UK also recommends enabling app push notifications for order updates; notifications are stored in the app’s Notification Hub, while the Message Center contains Amazon communications. Push alerts depend on device and account settings. Amazon says opted-in customers may also receive a push alert when an eligible Amazon delivery is ten stops away; this is an optional alert, not a guarantee of SMS delivery. Be cautious with delivery texts
Amazon may send text messages about orders and deliveries, but it says it will “never ask you via text message to provide personal information, payment details, gift card codes, or call a phone number.” If a message seems suspicious, do not use its link or phone number; check the order in the Amazon app or website, or contact Amazon through an official customer-service channel.
