To configure an auto-clicker safely, choose its click action and interval, set a finite repeat count if the task has an endpoint, assign and save a start/stop hotkey, and set a countdown if the program offers one. These controls vary by app and mode, so check the utility’s own help for special values and stop behavior, then try a short run before relying on a longer one.
Configure the click action and interval
- Choose the click action and target. Select the mouse button and click type, then choose the cursor position or fixed location if the app offers that choice. AutoClicker.com lists click type and click location among Standard Mode controls, but other programs may expose different options. See AutoClicker.com documentation.
- Set the interval. Enter the delay between clicks using the units shown in that application. Click interval is configurable in AutoClicker.com documentation; do not assume another program uses the same units or accepts the same range.
Set a click limit
If the task has a clear endpoint, enter a finite repeat count rather than leaving clicking to run indefinitely. Verify how the chosen utility interprets special values: the Fluffer project documents both repeat-N and repeat-until-stopped options, while the Murgee tutorial describes a different interface in which zero means infinite clicking until stopped.
These conventions are not interchangeable. Check the help for your specific program before starting a run, especially if the count field is set to zero or another special value.
Assign and verify the start/stop hotkey
- Open the app’s hotkey field or change-hotkey control, then press the key or key combination you want to use.
- Save or apply the binding if the program prompts you to do so.
- Check whether the hotkey is global or works only while the app is focused, and whether it toggles clicking or requires you to hold the key down. These behaviors vary: Fluffer documents a rebindable global F6 hotkey and reports when another app has claimed a key; La1nnik documents keyboard and mouse hotkeys with hold and toggle modes; TheChrisCross describes an Escape emergency stop while its window is focused. Before a longer run, confirm the stop control in the app’s documentation and try it during a short, finite run. Fluffer documents Escape as aborting an active run and releasing held buttons; other apps may handle Escape or other stop keys differently.

Use a start delay if the app provides one
A countdown gives you time to prepare the target window or position the pointer before clicks begin. In Fluffer’s project, the start delay is configured in seconds for preparing the target window. Set the countdown, start the run, and use the interval to focus the intended window or move the pointer into place.
Not every auto-clicker documents a start-delay setting. If your app has no such control, do not assume a similarly named option exists in another mode or version.

Account for mode and app differences
Settings may change with the selected mode: AutoClicker.com documentation presents Standard, Advanced, and Recording modes. Hotkey scope, repeat-count conventions, delay availability, and emergency-stop behavior also differ between utilities. Compare the controls that matter for your task before choosing a program; the linked documentation describes features, not a hands-on performance comparison.

- Does it support the hotkey you need, and does it report conflicts?
- Can it set a finite count, and is its unlimited mode clearly described?
- Does it offer a start countdown?
- What stop or emergency-stop control is documented, and does it work only while the app is focused?
