1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIf you use a Samsung Galaxy phone and want Samsung-specific audio features, shortlist the Galaxy Buds4 Pro. If you prefer Google’s Android and Gemini integrations—or want a fit system with a twist-adjust stabilizer—consider the Pixel Buds Pro 2. Both can pair with other Bluetooth devices for basic audio, but advanced features depend on your phone, software, and account. Fit is personal, and the available manufacturer specifications do not establish which sounds or blocks noise better.
This comparison is between Samsung’s Galaxy Buds4 Pro, announced in February 2026, and Google’s Pixel Buds Pro 2, an earlier product that received announced feature updates in August 2026. They are not same-generation launches.
Which earbuds make more sense for your Android phone?
| Your priority | Better starting point | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung phone integrations and supported advanced audio | Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro | Samsung lists features such as 24-bit/96-kHz Hi-Fi audio and 360 Audio, but its compatibility chart restricts these on non-Galaxy Bluetooth devices. Head gestures also require supported Galaxy devices and One UI. |
| Google account and Android/Gemini features | Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 | Google’s full-access requirements include a Google Account, a companion phone running Android 6.0 or later, and internet access. Some newer features also depend on rollout and device support. |
| Comfort or fit is the deciding factor | Try the fit of both, if possible | The Buds4 Pro uses a canal-fit design. Pixel Buds Pro 2 includes multiple ear-tip sizes and a twist-adjust stabilizer. Neither shape guarantees comfort for every ear. |
| Best measured sound or ANC performance | No evidence-based winner here | The available sources describe manufacturer features, not an independent, controlled head-to-head listening or noise-cancellation test. |
Samsung announced the Buds4 family on February 26, 2026, describing the Pro’s wider woofer, adaptive ANC, and Adaptive EQ in its announcement. Google’s Pixel Buds Pro 2 debuted earlier; Google’s August 12, 2026 update announced additional software features for the model. Check that those features have reached your region, account, and device before relying on them.
How phone compatibility changes what you get
Galaxy Buds4 Pro: strongest case for a supported Galaxy device
Samsung’s feature matrix, dated March 3, 2026, shows standard audio, calls, and ANC across device groups, but marks 24-bit/96-kHz Hi-Fi audio and 360 Audio unavailable on other Android and non-Android Bluetooth devices. Head gestures are limited to supported Galaxy devices and One UI. Some features on another Android phone require Galaxy Wearable. Samsung’s US product page says advanced settings require Android 12 or later and at least 1.5 GB of memory when using Galaxy Wearable; the app is not available on iOS. Check your exact phone model and One UI version against Samsung’s device feature chart rather than assuming every Galaxy phone supports every option.

Pixel Buds Pro 2: Bluetooth pairing is broader than full feature access
Google says the Pixel Buds Pro 2 pair with Bluetooth 4.0-or-newer devices, including Android and iOS phones, tablets, and laptops. Pairing does not mean every feature works on every platform. Google lists a Google Account, an Android 6.0-or-newer companion phone, and internet as requirements for full access. Its US specifications page lists Bluetooth 5.4 and a Google Tensor A1 chip.
On August 12, 2026, Google said Dynamic ANC, Gemini audio controls, and Pixel Watch sleep sync would start rolling out in September. Because rollout and compatibility can vary, verify availability for your account, region, and devices before buying for one of those features.

Fit and design: canal seal versus adjustable stabilizer
The Galaxy Buds4 Pro is a canal-fit earbud, while Samsung’s standard Buds4 uses an open-fit design. This comparison focuses on the Pro model; the standard Buds4 is a different fit choice, not an interchangeable description of the Pro. Samsung’s US announcement describes the Buds4 Pro’s ergonomic design, but that does not establish how it will feel in your ears.
Google supplies multiple ear-tip sizes with the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and uses a twist-adjust stabilizer. A secure seal matters for comfort and noise isolation, but ear shape and sensitivity vary. If fit is uncertain, check the seller’s return policy and test each earbud for pressure or looseness before deciding.

- International Model without Domestic Warranty: The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro SM-R640 are an International Version and do not include a local warranty. Optimized for Android, particularly Samsung Galaxy devices, they offer advanced features such as Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), 360 Audio, Hi-Fi sound, and real-time AI-based audio enhancements. While fully compatible with iOS devices via Bluetooth, certain features like ANC customization and 360 Audio are exclusive to Galaxy Android devices.
Sound, noise control, calls, and controls
Audio and noise control
Samsung describes the Buds4 Pro as using a two-way speaker with a woofer and tweeter, six microphones, adaptive ANC, adaptive noise control, voice and siren detection, and head gestures. Those are manufacturer feature descriptions, not independent performance measurements. Samsung’s US announcement also includes a comfort statement from a Samsung executive; it is promotional language, not user-testing evidence.
Google lists an 11-mm dynamic driver, ANC with Silent Seal 2.0, transparency mode, and Conversation Detection for the Pixel Buds Pro 2. These specifications do not show that one model has better sound, ANC, or call quality than the other. Without a controlled cross-brand test, choose based on the features you will use and your own fit and listening preferences.

Controls and voice features
Samsung’s head gestures are a potential convenience only if your Galaxy phone and One UI version are supported. Google’s announced Gemini audio controls may appeal if you use Google’s services, but availability depends on the rollout and compatible devices. Confirm the specific control you want is supported before treating it as a deciding advantage.

Battery life
Google’s Pixel Buds Help page gives manufacturer estimates of up to 8 hours per charge with ANC or 12 hours without ANC, and up to 30 hours with ANC or 48 hours without ANC including the case. Google notes estimates may vary. The comparable current Galaxy Buds4 Pro figure was not established in the Samsung materials cited here, so these numbers do not support a battery-life ranking.

Google lists IP54 for the Pixel Buds Pro 2 earbuds and IPX4 for the charging case. A matching current Galaxy Buds4 Pro rating was not established in the cited Samsung materials. Do not infer that the case and earbuds share a rating, or compare their protection without checking the exact model’s official specification.
US manufacturer-listed prices
As accessed October 4, 2026, Google’s US product page listed the Pixel Buds Pro 2 at $229, and Samsung’s US page listed the Galaxy Buds4 Pro from $249.99. These are manufacturer-page prices at that date, not a guarantee of current retailer pricing or sale availability.

How to make the final choice
- Check your phone first. For Samsung-specific Buds4 Pro options, confirm your phone model and One UI version in Samsung’s dated compatibility chart. For Pixel Buds Pro 2 full access, confirm the Android, Google Account, and internet requirements.
- Choose the features you will actually use. Consider Samsung’s supported Hi-Fi, 360 Audio, adaptive controls, and gestures against Google’s account, Android, and announced Gemini-related features. Verify feature availability for your devices.
- Prioritize comfort over the spec sheet. Compare the canal-fit seal with Google’s tip sizes and twist-adjust stabilizer; specifications cannot predict individual comfort.
- Check live pricing and exact-model specifications. The listed US prices are dated, and the cited information does not establish a comparable Samsung battery figure or IP rating.
