The available references identify allied groups and a Legionfall Soldier, but do not support a tactical comparison among them.
What “Armies of Legionfall” means
Blizzard’s “Unlocking Flying in Legion” announcement identifies the Armies of Legionfall as a faction in the Legion context. It does not establish an official category system called “Legionfall army types.”
That distinction matters: the faction name alone does not show that its allies are separate army types, nor does it establish their combat roles or how they perform in a particular activity.
Which groups and units are associated with the faction?
The community-maintained Armies of Legionfall reference lists the Court of Farondis, Azurewing, Nightfallen, Highmountain Tribe, and Wardens as allied groups. It also lists Legionfall Soldier as an associated unit.

#1 Best Overall
Those entries support identifying the groups and unit as associated with the faction. They do not show that each group is a distinct army type or provide comparable information about strengths, weaknesses, availability, or best uses.
Can Legionfall army types be compared by strengths and best uses?
Not on the established information above. There is no substantiated comparison of official Legionfall army types, and no verified statistics or attributable tactical assessment to rank them. Inferring that an allied group has a particular battlefield role from its name would go beyond what these references establish.

A useful comparison would first need to define what “types” means—for example, allied factions, NPC units, mission troops, or a specific campaign system. It would then need evidence for each option’s documented role, availability, relevant game mode, advantages, limitations, and the conditions in which it is useful. Any gameplay assessment should be tied to the relevant version, patch, or mode rather than treated as timeless.

- Subject: Are you comparing allied groups, individual units, mission troops, or something else?
- Context: Which Legion activity, game mode, or campaign situation matters?
- Evidence: Is there a source documenting each option’s role and performance in that context?
Until those points are specified and supported, “best use” claims would be guesswork rather than a reliable guide.
