Start by checking exactly what the bundle includes
Read the included-items list rather than relying on the product title or promotional image. A themed “keyboard and mouse” bundle may include additional accessories—or omit items that appear in photos.
For example, CORSAIR’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 bundle includes a K65 Plus Wireless keyboard, an M75 Wireless mouse, and an MM300 mouse pad. Compare it with two-piece sets only after accounting for the extra pad and whether you would use it. Check separately for included receivers, charging cables, and other accessories.
Also confirm the exact themed edition and seller. Design, stock, and included items can vary across listings and regions, so make sure the product page describes the version you intend to buy.

Choose a keyboard layout and size that work for you
Form factor affects both desk space and access to keys. A full-size keyboard includes a numpad; a tenkeyless (TKL) model removes it; more compact boards may also omit dedicated navigation keys or place functions behind a key layer. A smaller board can leave more room for mouse movement, but may require extra key combinations.
Check the printed legends and regional layout before checkout. The cited CORSAIR bundle specifies a North American layout, which may not match the legends or key arrangement you need. Lenovo’s keyboard-and-mouse combo guide also recommends weighing size and layout against your desk and the keys you use.

Look beyond the artwork to how the keyboard feels
A product photo cannot tell you whether the keys will feel comfortable or sound acceptable in your room. Check the switch type, key travel, and any published actuation details. Consider whether you prefer a lighter, quieter press or a more pronounced feel, and look for rollover information if you often press several keys at once.
Remapping, macros, lighting controls, and saved profiles are useful only if the exact model supports them in the way you need. If hot-swappable switches or onboard profile storage matter to you, confirm those specifications rather than inferring them from the theme or price. Lenovo’s guide identifies switch behavior, noise, consistency, and rollover as practical criteria.

Check connection modes, receivers, and charging for both devices
Evaluate the keyboard and mouse separately. For each, note whether it connects by cable, Bluetooth, or a 2.4 GHz USB receiver; whether the receiver is included; and how many USB ports the setup will occupy. Do not assume that two products sold together share one receiver: KLIM’s Chroma Wireless set specifies two separate USB receivers.
For wireless models, check the charging method and whether you are comfortable keeping both devices charged. Keyboard lighting may affect battery life, so look for a model-specific battery statement and the conditions attached to it rather than treating a listed duration as universal. A wired connection avoids battery charging, while wireless designs reduce cable clutter but require a plan for receivers and power.

Verify operating-system and software support
Basic typing and pointing can work independently of advanced configuration features. Confirm operating-system support for both devices, then check whether the utility required for lighting, macros, remapping, or profiles supports your computer. Find out whether settings are saved onboard or depend on the software being installed and running.
Support can differ by device and feature, even within a set. CORSAIR lists iCUE support for the keyboard in its bundle specifications, while KLIM says its mouse customization software is for Windows on the Chroma Wireless set page. Check the exact current product page for the model and host system you plan to use.

Judge the mouse by fit and tracking, not its biggest DPI figure
A mouse should suit your hand and grip before you judge it by a headline sensitivity number. Check its shape, dimensions, weight, handedness, button placement, and any published sensor information. Consider whether its controls are reachable and whether its shape feels suitable for the way you hold a mouse.
Lenovo’s guide emphasizes consistent tracking across surfaces and movement speeds; that may matter more in use than a high maximum DPI figure. Think about the surface you will use and look for relevant sensor details instead of assuming the largest number means better tracking.
Compare the complete value, warranty, and purchase terms
Compare the bundle’s total price with the cost of equivalent parts and accessories you would otherwise buy. A set with an included mouse pad is not directly comparable to a two-piece set unless you account for whether that accessory has value to you. Also compare the theme and edition, keyboard layout, connection options, mouse fit, software support, and warranty.
Warranty terms are product-specific, not category-wide. CORSAIR lists a two-year keyboard warranty for its cited bundle, while KLIM advertises a five-year warranty for its Chroma Wireless set. Review the current warranty and return terms for the exact product and seller, along with regional layout and availability, before paying.
