First, rule out a drained battery or charging problem
- Remove the case. Check that nothing is pressing against or blocking the physical buttons. Samsung recommends removing a case if it interferes with button operation. Samsung’s Galaxy troubleshooting guidance
- Connect a known-good compatible charger and cable. Use a Samsung-certified charger and cable if available. A deeply discharged Galaxy may not show a charging indicator right away, so leave it connected for a while before concluding that it is not charging. Samsung
- Try a second known-good charging setup. If there is still no sign of charging, test another compatible charger and data cable. This can help distinguish a depleted battery from a charger, cable, or port problem. Samsung Singapore
If the phone starts after charging, the immediate issue may have been a depleted battery rather than a failed startup method. Charging alone, however, is not a documented way to boot a powered-off S6 when its Power button is broken.
Can a forced restart turn on an S6 with a broken Power button?
Only if the Power button can still be pressed. Samsung’s forced-restart procedure is to press and hold Power and Volume Down together for at least seven seconds. If the button works intermittently, remove the case and try that combination once. If the button cannot be pressed or the phone does not respond, do not treat repeated key combinations as a guaranteed workaround.

Does wireless charging start a powered-off Galaxy S6?
The Galaxy S6 supports Qi and Powermat wireless charging. That gives you another way to check whether the wired charging port may be the problem, provided you have a compatible charging pad. When the Power button appears to have failed
If charging does not restore the phone and the Power button is unusable, the available guidance supports diagnosing and repairing the button or associated hardware rather than relying on a software trick. iFixit lists a Galaxy S6 power-button replacement guide and a power-button cable; check your phone’s exact model number before choosing a part, because compatibility can vary by model.
