For photographers who want more dedicated zoom framing, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra lists separate 3x and 5x optical telephoto cameras. The Google Pixel 10 Pro instead pairs a 5x telephoto with features such as Macro Focus, Camera Coach, Night Sight, and Astrophotography. Those specifications suggest different feature fits—not a universal winner for photo quality. This comparison covers the models and manufacturer-listed features available as of October 4, 2026.
How the rear-camera systems compare
Both phones include a wide, ultrawide, and 5x telephoto camera. Their published camera configurations differ in resolution and in the additional shooting options they emphasize.
| Camera feature | Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra | Google Pixel 10 Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Wide camera | 200 MP [Samsung product page] | 50 MP [Google Pixel 10 Pro specifications] |
| Ultrawide camera | 50 MP [Samsung product page] | 48 MP, with Macro Focus [Google Pixel 10 Pro specifications] |
| Telephoto cameras | 50 MP 5x and 10 MP 3x [Samsung product page] | 48 MP 5x [Google Pixel 10 Pro specifications] |

What the zoom specifications mean in practice
Galaxy S26 Ultra: separate 3x and 5x optical views
Samsung lists a dedicated 10 MP 3x telephoto and a 50 MP 5x telephoto. That gives the Galaxy a feature-based case for someone who often wants a tighter portrait or subject framing at 3x, as well as a separate 5x view. Samsung also lists 2x and 10x optical-quality zoom using its Adaptive Pixel sensor; the company distinguishes those from the two optical zoom steps. [Samsung product page]
Pixel 10 Pro: 5x telephoto and Pro Zoom
Google lists a 48 MP 5x telephoto and Pro Zoom up to 100x. The 100x figure describes the maximum zoom feature, not a promise of optical detail or dependable handheld results at that magnification. If you regularly photograph distant subjects, consider whether a maximum-zoom mode is useful to your workflow, but do not treat that number as equivalent to a dedicated optical focal length. Close-ups and built-in camera assistance
Pixel features for close-up and guided shooting
Google explicitly lists Macro Focus on the Pixel 10 Pro’s ultrawide camera. Its listed camera tools also include Camera Coach, Night Sight, Astrophotography, and High-Res Portrait Mode. These features may suit someone who wants help composing shots or dedicated modes for particular situations; their presence does not by itself prove better image quality. What the Samsung feature list establishes
The Samsung pages cited here specify the Galaxy’s cameras and zoom options, but do not establish a matching close-up feature for comparison. That is not evidence that the phone lacks close-up capability; it means the cited specifications do not support a direct feature-to-feature claim on that point.

Which camera system fits your photography style?
- Choose the Galaxy S26 Ultra on features if: you often want the choice of distinct 3x and 5x optical telephoto framing, or value the listed range of optical-quality zoom options as well.
- Choose the Pixel 10 Pro on features if: Macro Focus, Google’s named computational modes, or Camera Coach align more closely with the way you shoot.
- Compare your real subjects: think about whether you mostly photograph people nearby, details close to the lens, landscapes, or distant subjects. The useful camera system is the one whose documented focal lengths and modes match those situations.
These recommendations are based on published manufacturer specifications, not a controlled head-to-head image-quality test. Samsung describes the S26 Ultra as having “Our brightest camera system yet”; that is Samsung’s promotional wording, not independent comparative evidence. [Samsung product page]

Manufacturer pages establish the listed hardware and advertised features, but do not independently validate how images compare in real scenes. No controlled comparative result cited here establishes that either phone categorically takes better pictures. Camera software and feature availability may also vary by region or change over time, so check the exact regional product listing when choosing a device.
