If your Galaxy S6 is on and responsive, you can set Samsung’s Auto restart feature to reboot it at a chosen time. It is a scheduled restart, not an immediate command. The S6 manual does not document a reliable way to restart the phone immediately without a working Power button. If the phone is frozen, Samsung’s force-restart combination still uses the Power key.
Schedule an Auto restart on a responsive Galaxy S6
Samsung’s Galaxy S6 manual documents Auto restart in Settings. Before scheduling it, save anything you are working on: the manual warns that unsaved data is lost when the device restarts.
- Open Apps > Settings > General management > Reset > Auto restart.
- Turn on Auto restart and choose a day and time.
- Make sure the battery is above 30% and choose a time when the phone is likely to be idle.
The phone restarts only when it is not in use and battery power is above 30%. The exact menu labels may vary by carrier or software edition; if the path differs, search Settings for “Auto restart.” See the Samsung Galaxy S6 user manual for the model-specific instructions.
If you need to restart it immediately
Auto restart cannot reboot the phone on demand; it waits for the scheduled time and the required idle and battery conditions. The available S6 manual instructions do not establish a universal immediate restart method that avoids the Power button. If the key is physically damaged, arrange a professional inspection rather than relying on an unverified software shortcut. Samsung recommends service inspection for suspected device damage in its troubleshooting guidance.

If the Galaxy S6 is frozen
Samsung’s general force-restart guidance says to press the Power/Side key and Volume Down together. Because that combination requires the Power key, it does not solve a failed Power button. Samsung notes that the instructions may vary by model and software; see its Galaxy restart guidance.
