Reset the speaker using its model-specific buttons
JBL/Harman lists these factory-reset procedures. Start with the speaker turned on, then hold the buttons for the stated time; release when the speaker powers off.

Check for an update if your model supports it
For Flip 7, JBL’s quick-start guide points to the JBL Portable app for speaker configuration and software upgrades. Check the app for an available update, but do not assume an update will resolve this symptom; the guide does not connect updates to charging-related startup. Keep a Flip 7 charging port dry and clean
JBL’s Flip 7 guide says a reminder sound can signal that USB-C protection has detected water, salt, or other chemicals. If that happens, unplug the cable and do not charge the speaker until the port is completely dry and clean. JBL warns that charging while wet can damage the speaker. If it still turns on, ask JBL support to diagnose it
If the reset does not change the behavior, the cause is not established by the available JBL guidance.
