Facebook group admins and moderators can schedule a post for a specific date and time using the group’s post composer. Start writing a post, choose the calendar scheduling control, set when it should publish, and select Schedule. Ordinary members do not have the scheduling role described by Meta.
Who can schedule a Facebook group post?
Meta says group admins and moderators can schedule posts for a specific day and time. Its Facebook Communities Summit announcement introduced the feature in 2017. If you are an ordinary member and do not see the scheduling control, ask a group admin or moderator to schedule the post.
Meta’s Help Center explains that admins can invite people to become admins or moderators and manage group settings and members: Add an admin or moderator to your Facebook group.
How to schedule a post in a Facebook group
The following interface steps come from a third-party walkthrough checked on September 27, 2026. Meta’s announcement confirms the feature and eligible roles, but does not provide these current step-by-step labels. Facebook may change the menu names or layout.

- Open the group. Sign in to Facebook and go to the group where you want to publish.
- Start a post. Select “Write something…” in the group. If you do not see the composer, open the Discussion tab first.
- Compose the post. Enter your text and add any content you want to include.
- Open scheduling. Select the calendar icon near the Post control. The walkthrough says it appears after you begin writing and is available to admins and moderators.
- Choose when it should publish. Set the date and time, then select Schedule.
These control labels and steps are reported in PostDaily’s Facebook group scheduling walkthrough. If the calendar icon is missing, check that you are an admin or moderator and that you have started composing a post.
Where to find and manage scheduled posts
In the group, look under Admin tools for Scheduled posts. Depending on the interface, you may need to select Manage first. The walkthrough lists options to edit, reschedule, publish immediately, or delete a scheduled post; the precise labels and placement can change.

One-time scheduling, recurring posts, and external apps
One-time schedule
Meta’s announcement describes scheduling a post for a specific day and time. Use the native group composer for this one-time workflow.
Recurring posts
A recent third-party guide associates recurring posts with Admin Assist, but current availability and controls for recurring group posts are not independently confirmed by the official sources cited here. Do not assume that the one-time scheduling steps create a repeating schedule.

Third-party schedulers
Do not assume an external scheduling app can publish to a Facebook group. Meta notes that the permission allowing an app to publish Facebook posts may not be available for every app. Check the app’s current official documentation and permissions before relying on it; Meta’s guidance is here: Control if an app can publish Facebook posts on your behalf. The sources cited here do not verify group-post publishing support for any specific scheduler.
