What is the Pixel 10a’s current price in Canada?
The confirmed Canadian reference point is CA$679: Google announced that launch price on February 18, 2026, with availability beginning March 5 through the Google Store and major carriers. A retrieved Google Store Canada page also showed CA$679. However, a Canadian price-increase report published October 3 claimed CA$849; that report could not be opened, and the retrieved Store evidence does not verify the higher figure. Treat CA$849 as unconfirmed, not as an established Google price, and check the final amount at checkout.
These Canadian figures are separate from a reported U.S. change. Android Central reported on October 2 that U.S. pricing rose to US$599 for the 128 GB model and US$699 for the 256 GB model, from US$499 for the prior U.S. 128 GB starting price. That U.S. report does not establish a Canadian price change.
A Google Store Canada listing also showed a CA$529 offer, saving CA$150 from CA$679, but the displayed promotion ended September 24, 2026. It is not evidence of an active offer now. Use the price and any promotion displayed at your own checkout rather than assuming an old listing remains available.

Is it worth buying at CA$679?
For an upgrade from an older phone, it can be a reasonable buy at CA$679 if you specifically want Google’s camera features, a smooth 120 Hz screen, wireless charging, and a long software-support period. The case is strongest when you plan to keep the phone for years and the 10a’s 128 GB or 256 GB storage option fits your needs.
It is less compelling if you prioritize a substantial performance leap or are choosing only by headline specifications. The Pixel 10a retains the Tensor G4 and much of the Pixel 9a’s camera and battery hardware, so the generation-to-generation changes are limited. Tom’s Guide and TechRadar both describe substantial hardware carry-over. At this price, consider the phone you own now and the final cost of any alternative, including any carrier-plan requirement; a low monthly device payment alone does not show which option costs less overall.

Google says Pixel updates run for seven years from the phone’s first availability on the Google Store in the U.S. That support clock is tied to the stated U.S. availability point, not to when an individual Canadian buyer purchases the phone.
How good is the battery life?
TechRadar recorded 15 hours and 16 minutes for the Pixel 10a in its 2026 lab battery test, more than two hours longer than its Pixel 9a result in the same test. That is useful evidence that the 10a performed well in that review’s conditions, not a guarantee that every owner will get that runtime. Screen settings, signal strength, apps, and usage can affect real-world battery life.

Should Pixel 9a owners upgrade?
Usually not. The Pixel 10a keeps the Tensor G4 and much of the Pixel 9a’s camera and battery hardware. Tom’s Guide and TechRadar both characterize the changes as limited, so a routine upgrade is difficult to justify on hardware differences alone.
Consider switching only if there is a specific change you need, or if a particularly favorable trade-in makes the net cost worthwhile. Compare the trade-in value and final amount due, rather than judging by the new phone’s list price alone.

What if the checkout price is CA$849?
If Google Store or a retailer actually shows CA$849 at checkout, the phone is much harder to recommend as a value purchase. The available evidence does not verify that as Google’s Canadian price, so first confirm the seller, storage configuration, and any plan or financing conditions. If CA$849 is the real device price, waiting for a discount or comparing other phones is the safer decision; the U.S. increase does not supply a Canadian comparison price.
