Snapchat does not publish a Snapscore update schedule or the exact formula behind the number. It says the score combines Snaps sent and received, Stories posted, and other undisclosed factors. You can find your own score on your Profile screen; Snapchat also says it cannot be lowered or reset.
What makes your Snapscore go up?
Snapchat describes Snapscore as a calculation combining the number of Snaps you send and receive, the Stories you post, and “a couple other factors.” The company does not explain those other factors or disclose how much any activity contributes. Snapchat Support: What is a Snapscore?
That means there is no official points calculator. Snapchat’s explanation does not assign a fixed value to an individual sent Snap, received Snap, Story, or other action.
Do chats, streaks, or watching Stories count?
Snapchat’s Score explanation does not give a confirmed point value for ordinary text chats, streaks, watching Stories, or a particular sequence of opening and replying. Treat claims that these actions add a specific number of points as unverified unless Snapchat publishes guidance supporting them.

When does my Snapscore update?
Snapchat’s Score help page explains what contributes to the score and where to find it, but it does not state how often the number refreshes or how long a change takes to appear. The company’s Snapchat+ feature for checking a friend’s score change also does not specify an update interval. Snapchat Support: What is a Snapscore? Snapchat Support: How do I see how much a friend’s Snapscore has changed?
So claims that Snapscore updates instantly, every few minutes, or only after opening a Snap are not established by these official explanations. If your displayed score seems unchanged, check the current in-app display and Snapchat Support for current troubleshooting guidance; elapsed time alone does not establish that something is wrong.

Can someone see my Snapchat score?
Snapchat’s profile guidance says only friends can see a personal profile, while anyone on Snapchat can see a Public Profile. That describes profile audiences; it does not explicitly establish that a Snapscore is visible to every person who can view a Public Profile. Snapchat Support: What is a Public Profile?

What Snapchat+ shows about a friend’s score
Snapchat says Snapchat+ subscribers can tap a friend’s Snapscore in the Friendship Profile to see how much it has changed since they last checked. This is a score-change feature, not a published rule that everyone can see everyone’s score. Snapchat Support: How do I see how much a friend’s Snapscore has changed?
Snapscore is not a game leaderboard score
Some Snapchat games have leaderboards, and Snapchat says game activity sharing may need to be enabled for friends to see scores and rankings. Those settings concern game activity, not Snapscore. Manage them at Profile > Settings > Game Activity. Snapchat Support: How do I share my game activity with friends?
