How to check whether a thumbnail is ready
Use the ready-check endpoint shown in PagePeeker’s API documentation after initiating or refreshing thumbnail generation. The endpoint accepts the requested size, an optional API code, and the page URL. Its JSON response documents two fields:

When IsReady is 1, retrieve the image using the documented image URL or retrieval flow. When it is 0, wait and check again. Treat Error separately from “not ready”: an error is not a signal to poll indefinitely. Consult the API documentation for the exact endpoint URL and request syntax for your account and chosen size.
Keep credentials server-side
PagePeeker says its REST APIs are intended for server-side use. The optional code parameter is recommended for server-side calls; do not expose it in a client-side page, because third-party use can count against your monthly quota. Polling frequency and API usage
Each check for thumbnail availability counts as one API call, according to PagePeeker’s FAQ. A render is different: it is the robot fetching a page and generating its thumbnail. Once generated, the thumbnail is cached on PagePeeker’s servers for several days. The FAQ’s distinction matters when estimating usage: repeatedly checking readiness adds API calls even when the image has not yet become available.
Use a bounded polling schedule rather than a tight loop: wait between checks, stop when the image is ready or an error is returned, and set a maximum elapsed time that fits your application. The public documentation cited here does not specify a recommended polling interval or a completion-time guarantee, so choose the interval based on your own latency needs and API allowance.
