Sign in to YouTube Studio on a computer.

In the left menu, select Content, then open the Live tab.

Select the live stream you want to review and open Analytics.

Choose the reporting scope that matches your question: the individual video for that stream, or the channel for an aggregate across channel content.

Set the content filter to Live to isolate live streams. Choose Live & on demand if you want a combined figure that also includes on-demand videos, then open the watch-time report.
YouTube says live-stream metrics become available in Analytics within minutes after the stream ends; it does not specify an exact number of minutes. Watch-time reports are available at video and channel level, and report data can be downloaded as a CSV.

In the dedicated live-stream Engagement view, the desktop path is Content → Live → select the stream → Analytics → Engagement. It includes metrics such as concurrent viewers and chat messages. Concurrent viewers are a count at a point in time, not total watch time; average view duration is also a different metric.
What to expect while a 24/7 stream is still live
If the broadcast has not ended, use Live Control Room for the real-time measures YouTube documents. The official help documentation reviewed for this workflow does not establish whether the individual video’s Analytics page shows a running cumulative watch-time total before the broadcast ends. Once the stream ends, check its video-level watch-time report. For a channel-wide total, use channel scope instead.
Analytics data is based on Video ID and is processed and despammed; it can therefore differ from the real-time figures in Live Control Room. YouTube’s documentation does not explain whether separate events, restarts, or interruptions are consolidated into one continuous-stream total, so do not assume the Analytics number covers every segment of a long-running broadcast.
Check vertical performance in a dual broadcast
For a dual horizontal-and-vertical broadcast, Live Control Room combines metrics for both formats. YouTube says metrics for only the vertical stream become available 24 hours after the stream ends.

In Studio on desktop, open the ended stream and select Analytics.

Open Advanced mode and set Breakdown to Playback location.

Choose a date range that extends beyond the first 24 hours after the stream ended, then select Vertical live feed.
Troubleshoot missing or confusing watch-time data

The stream is still running: Analytics availability and cumulative watch time for an ongoing 24/7 video are not confirmed in the documented workflow. Use Live Control Room for its real-time metrics, then check Analytics after the broadcast ends.

You see channel totals instead of one stream’s result: switch the reporting scope to the individual video. If you want an aggregate, use channel scope and check the content filter.

The total includes videos you did not intend to include: change Live & on demand to Live when you want live content only.

Live Control Room and Analytics do not match: the two surfaces measure and process data differently. Analytics uses processed, despammed data based on Video ID, while Live Control Room provides real-time metrics.

Vertical-only metrics are missing: for a dual broadcast, wait until 24 hours after the stream ends, then use Advanced mode and the Vertical live feed playback-location breakdown.

YouTube notes that the Studio interface is being rolled out in an updated experience starting July 2026, so labels or navigation may differ for some accounts. The workflow above is for desktop; access and data availability can also depend on the channel and account.
