How to share full-resolution photos in Apple Invites
Use a Shared Album for event photos in Invites. Version 1.12.0 adds full-resolution sharing for Shared Albums inside the app, so guests can contribute and view photos without the reduced detail associated with lower-resolution sharing. Apple’s notes do not publish a resolution ceiling or file-size limit.
Apple says people without an Apple device can join and contribute to these Shared Albums. That makes the feature useful for mixed-device groups, including guests who may use Android phones. The release notes do not explain the exact joining steps or whether every Shared Album control is available on every platform; access may depend on the album invitation and the recipient’s device or browser.

Create an Apple Invites background with Image Playground
Invites 1.12.0 adds Image Playground backgrounds in styles that include photorealistic. How guests verify email in Apple Invites
If an event requires email verification, the guest can now open the verification message and tap its link instead of entering a code manually. Email verification still applies when required; the change removes the code-entry step rather than removing verification itself.
Who can create an invitation and who can RSVP?
Apple’s launch announcement says creating an invitation requires an iCloud+ subscription, while anyone can RSVP—even without an Apple Account or Apple device. Apple Invites is available through its app and the web. The launch announcement dates to February 4, 2025; it is background on the service’s access model, not a separate statement about the 2026 update. Read Apple’s launch announcement.

Compatibility: the app requirement is not a feature guarantee
The cited App Store listing says Apple Invites is available for iPhone models running iOS 18 or later. That is the app’s stated minimum, not confirmation that every new feature in version 1.12.0 works on every supported iPhone or operating-system version.
