Its headline advantages are long claimed battery life, Wear OS 5, dual-frequency GPS and a broad set of wellness and sports tools. The trade-offs are a large, heavy case, Android-only compatibility and health features that vary by region.
When did the OnePlus Watch 3 debut?
OnePlus announced and launched the Watch 3 in the US and Canada on February 18, 2025, positioning it as the company’s flagship smartwatch. It runs Wear OS 5 and uses a dual-engine design: the Snapdragon W5 processor handles demanding tasks, while the BES2800 efficiency chipset runs background work on a real-time operating system.
How long does the battery last?
The watch has a 631mAh Silicon NanoStack battery. OnePlus quotes different endurance figures depending on how it is used:

TechRadar’s review table lists up to 120 hours of smartwatch battery life. Actual runtime will change with display settings, workout tracking, GPS, calls, notifications, cellular or Wi-Fi activity and battery age, so the figures are best treated as manufacturer and review estimates rather than a guaranteed schedule.

What health features does it have?
The 60-second Health Check-In combines several readings into a quick wellness snapshot:
- Heart rate
- Blood oxygen
- Vascular health or vascular age
- Wrist temperature
- Sleep information
- Physical and mental wellbeing indicators
OnePlus describes these tools as general wellness and fitness features, not medical-device measurements. ECG and other functions can depend on regulatory clearance in the user’s country; TechRadar reported that ECG was unavailable in the US at review time. Do not use the watch to diagnose a condition or replace professional medical advice.
Is it suitable for running and other workouts?
The Watch 3 supports more than 100 sports modes, including 11 professional modes, and includes dual-frequency GPS. That combination makes it a strong feature set for runners who want route tracking, workout recording and training data without charging every night. TechRadar’s review found its running performance and endurance strong.

The watch’s size can matter more than its feature list. TechRadar measured a 46.6mm × 47.6mm × 11mm case and 81g with the strap. That is substantial on a smaller wrist and may feel cumbersome during sleep or long runs. The review also noted issues with swim tracking and interpretation of some sleep data, so athletes who depend on highly polished swimming or sleep analysis should compare those functions carefully.
Design, durability and water limits
OnePlus lists a stainless-steel body, titanium PVD bezel, 2D sapphire crystal, MIL-STD-810H durability, IP68 protection and 5ATM water resistance. The display is a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED panel, and the watch has a rotating digital crown.
The stated 5ATM rating corresponds to pressure equivalent to 50 meters under test conditions; it does not make the watch suitable for every water activity. OnePlus specifically excludes hot showers, saunas, hot springs, deep diving and diving, and warns that water resistance can decline as the watch ages.

Will it work with your phone?
The OnePlus Watch 3 requires the OHealth app and a supported Android phone running Android 9 or newer with Google Mobile Services. It does not support iPhone or Android Go devices.
- Supported: compatible Android phones on Android 9 or later with Google Mobile Services.
- Not supported: iOS and Android Go.
Check the phone requirement before buying: the watch’s Wear OS branding does not mean it works across Android and Apple devices.

It is a good fit if you want
- Several days of smartwatch use between charges.
- A Wear OS watch with Google-powered smartwatch functions.
- Dual-frequency GPS and a large selection of sports modes.
- A rugged, premium-feeling case and sapphire crystal.
- An Android-only watch and a large case are acceptable.
Consider alternatives if you need
- An iPhone-compatible smartwatch.
- A compact, lightweight watch for a small wrist.
- Consistently available ECG or other regulated health functions in your region.
- More dependable swim tracking or sleep-data interpretation than the review reported.
- A price that is easy to judge without checking current regional offers.
When comparing it with an Android watch such as the Google Pixel Watch 3 or Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, compare battery endurance, case dimensions and weight, region-specific health functions, GPS and sports coverage, phone compatibility, water-resistance limits and the current local price. OnePlus Watch 3 pricing is time- and region-sensitive, so launch or review prices should not be treated as permanent.
