On a computer, open the page, press Ctrl+P (Windows/Linux) or Command+P (Mac), choose Save as PDF, inspect the preview, and save. On phones, use Chrome’s Share > Print > Save as PDF on Android, or Safari’s Share > Markup > Done > Save File To on iPhone.
Print output is paginated and can differ from what you see on screen. Preview the complete document before you rely on it, especially when the page contains columns, images, advertisements, lazy-loaded content, or interactive sections.
How do I print a full webpage to PDF on a computer?
Use the browser’s print preview rather than your operating system’s screenshot tool. Print preview lets you choose a PDF destination and adjust paper size, orientation, scale, margins, page range, colors, backgrounds, and headers or footers when those controls are available.
Google Chrome
- Open the webpage in Chrome and wait for the content you need to appear.
- Choose File > Print, or press Ctrl+P on Windows/Linux or Command+P on Mac.
- In the destination selector, choose Save as PDF.
- Review the preview. Set the page range, paper size, orientation, scale, margins, and options such as background graphics if they are offered.
- Select Save, choose a folder and filename, then confirm.
Chrome’s PDF is a print rendering, not a pixel-for-pixel copy of the browser window. A responsive layout may reflow into one or more paper pages.

Mozilla Firefox
- Open the page, open the Firefox menu, and choose Print.
- Set Destination to Save to PDF.
- Check the preview and select the page range, orientation, paper size, scale, margins, color, backgrounds, headers and footers, and any available format choices.
- Select Print to create the PDF, then choose where to save it.
Firefox may offer Simplified format. It can remove navigation and other clutter, but it also disables background printing, so compare the preview with the original format before choosing it. Firefox notes that websites can arrange themselves differently on paper.
Microsoft Edge
- Open the page and choose Settings and more > Print, or press Ctrl+P on Windows or Command+P on macOS.
- Inspect the preview and choose the PDF destination available on your system.
- Adjust page range, orientation, paper size, margins, headers and footers, and scaling. Edge exposes Fit to printable area, Actual size, and custom scale choices.
- Select Print or Save, name the file, and choose its location.
If the page is cluttered, try Immersive Reader when Edge offers it, then print from that view. Availability depends on the website. Edge can also print a selected portion, but that creates an excerpt rather than a full webpage.
How do I save an entire webpage as a PDF on a phone?
Android Chrome
- Open the webpage in Chrome.
- Tap More (the three-dot menu), then Share, then Print.
- Open the print settings and select Save as PDF.
- Choose a storage location and tap Save.
Menu labels can vary slightly by Android version and device manufacturer, but the Share-to-Print route is the standard Chrome workflow.
Safari on iPhone
- Open the page in Safari and tap the Share or More button. Its position depends on your tab layout.
- Tap Markup. Safari prepares the webpage as a PDF that you can annotate.
- When finished, tap More > Done, choose Save File To, name the document, and select a location in Files.
This route saves Safari’s webpage PDF. It is separate from sending the page to a physical printer.

- Take a screenshot of the page in Firefox.
- Choose Full Page instead of the default visible-screen capture.
- Tap Done, then choose Save as PDF.
This is a full-page screenshot-to-PDF workflow, not the conventional paginated print-preview process. It can be useful when preserving the visual page is more important than paper-style pagination.

How to make the PDF complete and readable
Inspect the final section and page breaks
Scroll through the print preview. Confirm that the last section appears, headings are not stranded at the bottom of a page, and images are not unexpectedly clipped. A page that looks correct in the browser can reflow during printing.
Fix horizontal clipping
Switch to Landscape for wide tables or multi-column layouts. If the content still runs off the page, reduce the scale or choose a fit-to-page option. Use the smallest reduction that keeps text readable.
Control clutter
Ads, sidebars, cookie notices, navigation, and chat widgets can consume pages. Firefox’s Simplified format may remove some of these elements; Edge’s Immersive Reader may do the same where supported. Because simplified views can omit backgrounds or other design elements, compare both previews.
Choose backgrounds and headers deliberately
Background colors and images improve a design-heavy document but increase ink use and can reduce contrast. Headers and footers can add the URL, date, or page numbers, yet they also consume vertical space. Turn each option on only when it serves the document’s purpose.
Load content before printing
Expand accordions, scroll through long pages to trigger lazy-loaded images, and wait for data-driven sections to finish loading. If the page requires a login, keep the authenticated session open. A browser cannot print content it has not received or rendered.

Neither approach is universally best. Print preview is usually preferable for a paginated, selectable document; full-page capture is better when preserving the visual arrangement matters more than paper dimensions.

The PDF stops before the bottom
The page may still be loading lazy content, or a site-specific print stylesheet may hide sections. Wait for loading to finish, scroll through the page, expand collapsed content, and print again. If the browser offers a page range, confirm that it is set to all pages.

Text or images are cut off on the right
Use landscape orientation, lower the scale, or choose fit-to-printable-area. Wide tables may need a larger paper size or a different capture method.
Colors or backgrounds are missing
Enable background graphics or background printing if available. Firefox Simplified format intentionally disables backgrounds, so switch back to the original format when appearance matters.
Ads, consent banners, or chat cover the content

The saved file is blank or shows a bot check

No. Selecting a PDF destination writes a file directly to storage; no printer hardware is needed.
Can I print only selected pages?
Yes. Desktop print dialogs generally provide a page-range field. Enter the pages you want after checking the preview.
Will links remain clickable in the PDF?
Often, but behavior depends on the browser and the webpage’s print rendering. Verify important links in the saved file before distributing it.
Can I preserve an interactive webpage as an interactive PDF?
Usually not. Print-to-PDF captures a rendered document. Forms, live data, video, menus, and other interactive behavior may be absent or nonfunctional.
