The best IT asset management software depends on the problem you need to solve: ServiceNow suits complex enterprise governance, Flexera One suits software-license optimization, Lansweeper suits automated discovery, ManageEngine AssetExplorer suits mid-market lifecycle management, and Snipe-IT suits low-cost self-hosted inventory. No single platform is best for every organization.
IT asset management (ITAM) covers technology from procurement and receiving through assignment, maintenance, licensing, reclamation, retirement, and disposal. The 14 products below are therefore grouped by use case rather than treated as interchangeable products. A discovery platform, a service desk with asset records, a software-asset-management suite, and a barcode inventory database can all be called ITAM software while solving materially different problems.
Pricing and plan signals in this article were observed around August 16, 2026. Vendor pricing can change by region, currency, billing term, asset count, modules, support level, taxes, and negotiated discount.
Key takeaways
- ServiceNow is the strongest fit for large organizations that already operate complex ITSM, CMDB, hardware-asset-management, and software-asset-management workflows on ServiceNow.
- Lansweeper is a discovery-first choice for hybrid-network visibility, while Device42 is better suited to infrastructure topology, dependency mapping, and migration planning.
- ManageEngine AssetExplorer, InvGate Asset Management, Freshservice, and Jira Service Management with Assets are more practical starting points for many mid-market IT teams.
- Flexera One, Ivanti Neurons for ITAM, and ServiceNow are more appropriate for serious software-license governance than inventory tools that merely list installed applications.
- Snipe-IT, GLPI, and AssetTiger can work well for simple or self-hosted inventory, but low subscription cost does not remove hosting, backup, security, upgrade, and administration work.
What is IT asset management software?
IT asset management software records and governs technology throughout its lifecycle: planning and procurement, receiving and tagging, assignment, deployment, configuration, maintenance, contracts, warranties, licenses, reassignment, retirement, disposal, and audit evidence.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteAsset inventory is only one part of ITAM. A spreadsheet or barcode database can record that a laptop belongs to an employee, but it may not discover devices automatically, reconcile duplicate records, normalize software names, calculate license positions, map application dependencies, or prove that a retired device was securely disposed of.
ITAM also has several different states of truth:
- Observed state: what discovery tools detect on networks, endpoints, cloud platforms, or SaaS services.
- Desired state: what security, configuration, ownership, and lifecycle policies require.
- Financial state: what procurement and accounting systems say was purchased, capitalized, depreciated, or disposed of.
- Compliance state: what software contracts, subscriptions, and license rights permit.
A good product connects these states, but no product should be assumed to replace an ERP, accounting ledger, endpoint-management platform, or publisher contract-management process without validating the specific integration.
How do ITAM, inventory, endpoint management, ITSM, CMDB, SAM, and SaaS management differ?
These categories overlap, but they are not equivalent. The most important buying mistake is comparing products from different categories as though every “asset” feature has the same depth.
| Category | Primary purpose | What it may not provide |
|---|---|---|
| ITAM | Lifecycle, ownership, costs, contracts, warranties, licenses, custody, and disposal | Deep endpoint enforcement or accounting functionality |
| IT inventory | Records of equipment, serial numbers, locations, and assignments | Automated discovery, software entitlement reconciliation, or dependency mapping |
| Endpoint management/UEM | Configuration, patching, policy enforcement, deployment, and remote actions | Procurement, contract, disposal, and financial lifecycle controls |
| RMM | Monitoring and remote management, especially for managed service providers | Full procurement, license compliance, and financial governance |
| ITSM | Incidents, requests, problems, changes, service catalogs, and knowledge | Deep software-license management or physical-asset controls by default |
| CMDB | Relationships between configuration items, users, applications, and services | Complete purchasing, custody, accounting, or disposal workflows |
| SAM | Software discovery, normalization, entitlements, usage, compliance, and optimization | Physical equipment workflows or broad service-desk capabilities |
| SaaS management | Application discovery, user access, spend, renewals, and SaaS governance | Hardware custody, network discovery, and traditional device lifecycle management |
| Fixed-asset accounting | Capitalization, depreciation, disposal, books, and financial reporting | Technical inventory, endpoint state, and service relationships |
Which IT asset management software is best?
There is no universal winner. The best product depends on organization size, existing systems, discovery requirements, software-license risk, deployment restrictions, and the amount of internal administration the buyer can support.

The comparison reflects category fit rather than a universal ranking. Industry comparison coverage from InvGate and Software Advice’s ITAM comparison also separate discovery-first, enterprise, open-source, ITSM-integrated, and physical-asset products.
1. ServiceNow IT Asset Management: best for large-enterprise governance
ServiceNow IT Asset Management is best for a large organization that already uses ServiceNow and needs connected ITSM, CMDB, hardware asset management, software asset management, and governance. ServiceNow is a poor economic fit for a small team that only needs to assign laptops and record serial numbers.
ServiceNow’s advantage is workflow and governance depth. Asset records can participate in procurement, incidents, changes, services, configuration relationships, hardware lifecycle processes, and software-license processes. ServiceNow documents separate ITAM applications and licensing for hardware and software asset management, with CI categories including network gear, servers, and end-user computers in its ITAM licensing documentation.
Choose ServiceNow when service impact, approvals, auditability, role-based governance, and enterprise process integration matter more than rapid deployment. Require a detailed quote that separates modules, implementation, support, integrations, and platform commitments.
2. Flexera One: best for software-license and SaaS cost optimization
Flexera One is best for organizations where software licensing, SaaS spend, entitlement reconciliation, and optimization are more important than basic equipment assignment. Flexera One should not be shortlisted as a simple laptop inventory database.
Serious software asset management requires more than installed-software discovery. Buyers should test publisher and product normalization, entitlement records, license metrics, effective-license-position calculations, usage and reclamation workflows, renewal management, audit reporting, and the handling of virtualization and cloud licensing rights.
Flexera’s official product page should be treated as the starting point for a sales evaluation because pricing is generally quote-based. Ask for a demonstration using the publishers, contracts, SaaS applications, and license metrics that create the organization’s actual compliance risk.
3. Ivanti Neurons for ITAM: best for endpoint-heavy enterprise operations
Ivanti Neurons for ITAM is best for organizations already invested in Ivanti endpoint or service-management products and seeking connected asset operations. Ivanti is less compelling when a buyer wants only a low-cost, standalone inventory register.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
Ivanti belongs in the enterprise shortlist when endpoint data, lifecycle workflows, service operations, and software governance need to work together. The practical evaluation question is not whether the product has an ITAM label, but which discovery sources, endpoint connectors, software-normalization functions, license metrics, and governance modules are included in the proposed package.
Use Ivanti’s product information to establish the current package, then request a quote that identifies every required module and integration. Licensing and packaging can be difficult to compare across endpoint, ITSM, and ITAM bundles.
Rank #2
4. Lansweeper: best for automated discovery and asset visibility
Lansweeper is best when the first problem is discovering what exists across hybrid networks, infrastructure, and endpoints. Lansweeper’s discovery strength does not automatically mean that the platform provides the same depth as an enterprise SAM or financial-lifecycle system.
Test agent-based and agentless discovery, network scanning, directory integrations, cloud and virtualization coverage, remote-device handling, duplicate reconciliation, and the frequency of inventory updates. Agentless scanning can fail across firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, cloud workloads, restricted credentials, powered-off devices, and unsupported operating systems. Agents can provide richer endpoint data but add packaging, permissions, privacy, security-software, and rarely-connected-device considerations.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
A comparison signal reported starting pricing around $239 per month billed annually, but the actual price depends on asset volume and edition. Verify the current offer on Lansweeper’s pricing page. Choose Lansweeper when observed-state visibility is the main gap; add or integrate lifecycle, procurement, accounting, or license-governance processes where needed.
5. Device42: best for infrastructure mapping and dependency analysis
Device42 is best for data-center, hybrid-infrastructure, application-dependency, topology, and migration-planning work. Device42 is likely excessive for a small company that only needs laptop ownership and check-in/check-out.
Evaluate configuration-item modeling, relationships between servers and applications, service maps, dependency discovery, data-center visualization, impact analysis, and change-management use cases. Device42 is especially relevant when the organization needs to understand what depends on a server, network component, application, or facility before a migration or major change.
Device42’s official site is the appropriate starting point for a scoped demonstration. Public comparison coverage does not provide a consistently published specific price, so treat Device42 as quote-based and compare the proposed deployment and licensing model rather than an invented per-asset figure.

ManageEngine AssetExplorer is best for mid-market teams that want hardware and software lifecycle management, procurement, contracts, inventory, and CMDB capabilities without starting with an enterprise platform.
ManageEngine advertises hardware and software discovery, inventory, custom lifecycle workflows, purchase and vendor management, and CMDB functionality on the AssetExplorer product page. Validate advanced software-license requirements separately; a product’s ability to list installed applications is not proof of enterprise-grade entitlement reconciliation.
The official pricing page showed cloud pricing of $115 per month for 250 assets, $225 per month for 500 assets, and $360 per month for 1,000 assets around August 16, 2026. The same product information advertises a free edition limited to 50 cloud nodes and 25 on-premises nodes, while the cloud trial is described as fully functional for 30 days and supports up to 250 assets. Verify the edition, currency, billing toggle, and current limits on ManageEngine’s pricing page.
7. InvGate Asset Management: best practical mid-market lifecycle platform
InvGate Asset Management is best for SMB and mid-market IT teams that want practical lifecycle management without the implementation burden of a large enterprise platform.
Use InvGate to evaluate procurement, vendor and contract records, assignments, transfers, repairs, warranty alerts, refresh cycles, disposal, reporting, and integrations. Discovery depth should be tested against the organization’s actual Windows, macOS, Linux, network, mobile, cloud, and remote-worker environment rather than accepted from a feature checklist.
Comparison coverage reported a Starter signal of $1,499 per year for up to 500 IP devices and 1,000 non-IP devices. That is a secondary comparison signal, not a guaranteed quote. Confirm current terms through InvGate Asset Management, including discovery modules, support, integrations, and asset-count definitions.
8. Freshservice IT Asset Management: best ITSM-plus-ITAM option for fast deployment
Freshservice is best for teams that want a service desk, discovery, lifecycle management, and CMDB experience in one relatively fast-to-deploy SaaS platform.
Freshservice is attractive when incidents, requests, changes, service relationships, and assets should share one workflow. Validate software normalization, entitlement modeling, non-IT asset handling, disposal controls, discovery coverage, and procurement depth before treating Freshservice as a full SAM replacement.
Rank #3
Freshservice general ITSM pricing was shown at $19, $49, and $99 per agent per month billed annually around the research date. Freshservice ITAM uses additional Asset Units, and the vendor states that Asset Units can be purchased in packs of 500. Asset types consume units differently, so “price per asset” is not a reliable comparison. See Freshservice pricing and Freshservice ITAM pricing before calculating total cost.
9. Jira Service Management with Assets: best for Atlassian-centered organizations
Jira Service Management with Assets is best for organizations already centered on Jira Software, Bitbucket, Confluence, and Atlassian service management. Assets is strongest when asset and configuration relationships can be maintained within the existing Atlassian operating model.
Atlassian positions Assets as a repository for assets and configuration items. Assets is included in Premium and Enterprise plans, while the Jira Service Management Free plan supports up to three agents. Additional Assets objects above the included allowance use consumption-based pricing, according to Atlassian’s Assets ITAM guide and pricing and packaging information.
Test object limits, import and reconciliation, permissions, automation, relationships, APIs, audit history, and integration with the organization’s endpoint and procurement systems. Jira Assets can be a strong consolidation choice, but it should not automatically be assumed to provide the same discovery or SAM depth as a dedicated platform.

1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches10. Snipe-IT: best open-source and self-hosted inventory
Snipe-IT is best for small teams that need controlled equipment records, ownership, assignments, check-in/check-out, barcodes, and self-hosted control. Snipe-IT is not an automatic substitute for discovery, software-license intelligence, CMDB dependency mapping, or enterprise governance.
Self-hosted Snipe-IT software is open source, while hosted plans are paid; the distinction is documented on Snipe-IT’s official site. Self-hosting can reduce subscription expenditure but transfers responsibility for installation, upgrades, backups, monitoring, availability, security hardening, integrations, and support to the buyer or hosting provider.
Choose Snipe-IT when a trustworthy inventory register is the immediate requirement and the organization has technical ownership for the platform. Do not choose it as the only tool when the requirement includes automated discovery across segmented networks or software-license compliance evidence.
11. GLPI: best open-source ITSM and ITAM suite
GLPI is best for technically capable organizations that want self-hosted open-source ITSM, inventory, help-desk functionality, and extensibility through plugins.
GLPI can be more suitable than Snipe-IT when the organization wants broader service-management functionality alongside inventory. The trade-off is administration: plugin selection, upgrades, integrations, backups, security, and data-quality ownership require an internal operating model.
The GLPI project site distinguishes the open-source platform from hosted and support options. Confirm which features, hosting arrangements, support commitments, and integrations are included in the edition being evaluated.
12. Asset Panda: best configurable physical and technology asset workflows
Asset Panda is best when an organization needs highly configurable workflows, fields, forms, and asset types across physical and technology equipment.
Asset Panda can suit organizations tracking more than conventional endpoints, such as configurable equipment, facilities-related items, or assets with specialized custody and approval processes. Buyers should test discovery, software normalization, CMDB relationships, procurement, disposal, integrations, reporting, and implementation effort rather than assuming configurability equals ITAM depth.
Recommended Free Tools
Pricing is generally sales-led. Request a quote through Asset Panda’s pricing information that separates subscriptions, configuration, migration, integrations, training, and support.
13. EZO AssetSonar: best for hardware plus software visibility
EZO AssetSonar is best for mid-market teams that want hardware discovery and lifecycle controls together with software-license visibility.
Rank #4
Evaluate coverage for Windows, macOS, Linux, servers, network devices, cloud resources, SaaS applications, software normalization, entitlement records, renewals, and integrations. Hardware and software visibility is valuable only when the platform can reconcile discovered records with owners, contracts, purchases, and usage in the buyer’s environment.
EZO AssetSonar is a paid cloud product with trial or sales-led pricing signals. Confirm current limits and endpoint, SaaS, and integration coverage through EZO AssetSonar before comparing it with public-priced products.

14. AssetTiger: best simple small-business tracker
AssetTiger is best for a small organization with straightforward inventory tracking and limited requirements for discovery, CMDB relationships, lifecycle automation, or software-license compliance.
AssetTiger can be appropriate for recording equipment, assignments, locations, and status when a manually maintained inventory is sufficient. It is not a substitute for a discovery-first platform, a full ITSM suite, a dependency-aware CMDB, or enterprise SAM.
Comparison coverage reports free-tier and low-cost positioning, but free plans can have asset, user, support, commercial-use, or feature restrictions. Verify current limits and terms at AssetTiger’s official site before selecting it on price alone.
Which ITAM platform should you choose by use case?
Choose the platform that matches the organization’s dominant risk, not the longest feature list.

How should you score IT asset management software?
Use a weighted scorecard instead of relying on star ratings or a vendor’s feature checklist. The following starting weights work for a general ITAM evaluation:
| Criterion | Suggested weight | Questions to test |
|---|---|---|
| Discovery and inventory accuracy | 20% | Can the product discover every important device class and update records reliably? |
| Lifecycle management | 15% | Can it handle procurement, assignment, repair, refresh, and disposal? |
| Software and SaaS management | 15% | Does it provide normalized applications, entitlements, usage, and renewals? |
| ITSM and CMDB integration | 10% | Can incidents, changes, services, and assets share dependable relationships? |
| Integrations and API | 10% | Does it connect to identity, endpoint, cloud, procurement, and accounting systems? |
| Reporting and auditability | 10% | Can it prove ownership, custody, compliance, and historical changes? |
| Ease of implementation | 10% | Can the internal team operate the product without a long consulting project? |
| Security and deployment fit | 5% | Does hosting, SSO, MFA, RBAC, audit logging, and data residency meet requirements? |
| Total cost of ownership | 5% | What will licensing, migration, integrations, administration, and support cost? |
Change the weights for the program. A discovery-first organization may raise discovery to 30%. A software-license-compliance program may raise SAM to 25% or 30%. A small team tracking laptops should reduce enterprise governance weighting and prioritize simplicity, cost, and reliable custody records.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What should you check before accepting a discovery claim?
Ask whether the product can discover the asset classes and network zones that the organization actually operates. “Has discovery” is not a sufficient answer.
- Test agent-based discovery on representative Windows, macOS, and Linux systems.
- Test agentless scanning across production VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, remote locations, and restricted credential zones.
- Include servers, virtual machines, network devices, mobile devices, cloud resources, and rarely connected endpoints.
- Test directory, MDM/UEM, RMM, cloud, and virtualization connectors.
- Measure duplicate records, missing serial numbers, missing owners, stale records, and reconciliation quality.
- Ask how powered-off, unsupported, unmanaged, and retired devices are represented.
Discovery finds observed state; discovery alone does not enforce desired state, prove financial ownership, or calculate compliance. A discovery platform can identify an unauthorized device without providing the approval, custody, accounting, or disposal workflow needed to govern that device.
How deep is the product’s software asset management?
Software inventory identifies installed applications; software asset management reconciles installations and usage with purchased entitlements and contractual rights.
Ask vendors to demonstrate application normalization, publisher recognition, entitlement records, license metrics, effective-license-position calculations, usage-based reclamation, SaaS-user assignment, renewal alerts, audit reports, and product-use rights. Also test virtualization and cloud licensing scenarios where relevant.
A product that marks “software asset management” as a feature may offer only an application list. Flexera One, Ivanti, and ServiceNow deserve the strongest consideration for complex enterprise SAM programs, while Freshservice and other ITSM platforms may be more appropriate when the requirement is operational software visibility tied to service workflows.
Do ITAM tools replace Intune, Jamf, an RMM, or an ERP?
Usually, no. ITAM software generally complements endpoint management, RMM, and accounting systems rather than replacing all of them.
Intune, Jamf, Configuration Manager, and RMM products can configure, patch, monitor, or remotely control devices. ITAM adds ownership, procurement, lifecycle, contract, warranty, custody, and disposal context. An ERP or accounting system may remain authoritative for purchase cost, capitalization, depreciation, tax treatment, and financial disposal.
For every important field, decide which system is authoritative. Identity may come from Entra ID, Active Directory, or an HRIS; device configuration may come from Intune, Jamf, an RMM, or a discovery agent; purchase cost may come from procurement or an ERP; license entitlements may come from publisher contracts or a SAM tool; depreciation may remain in accounting; and ticket relationships may belong to the ITSM platform.
How do pricing models differ?
ITAM pricing cannot be compared safely until the billing unit is understood. Products may charge per agent, asset, node, endpoint, device, user, software title, asset unit, module, or negotiated enterprise contract.
| Pricing model | What can drive cost | Buying risk |
|---|---|---|
| Per agent | Service-desk and administrator seats | ITAM may require separate asset or object charges |
| Per asset, node, or endpoint | Managed devices, IP devices, servers, or other counted objects | Definitions may differ between products |
| Asset units or objects | Weighted asset types or CMDB objects | A server, SaaS user, container, storage item, and laptop may consume different amounts |
| Per module | Discovery, CMDB, SAM, automation, or premium reporting | The base price may omit the capability that justified the purchase |
| Quote-based | Scale, modules, users, support, hosting, and contract terms | Public comparisons are not reliable substitutes for a scoped quote |
| Self-hosted open source | Hosting, administration, backups, upgrades, security, and integrations | Subscription savings can become operational cost |
ManageEngine’s public asset-volume prices and Freshservice’s agent-plus-Asset-Unit model illustrate why a single “starting price” can mislead. Ask every vendor for the cost at the organization’s actual endpoint, server, SaaS-user, agent, administrator, module, and support counts.
What does implementation require?
Implementation starts with data ownership and lifecycle policy, not with importing a spreadsheet.
- Define scope: document users, endpoints, servers, network devices, mobile devices, SaaS applications, cloud resources, locations, remote workers, and unmanaged networks.
- Define taxonomy: standardize asset types, statuses, naming conventions, serial-number rules, ownership, custody, and disposal states.
- Choose sources of truth: assign each important field to identity, endpoint, procurement, accounting, contract, ITSM, or ITAM systems.
- Clean existing data: remove duplicates, normalize serial numbers, identify missing owners, and flag stale records before automation.
- Configure discovery: select credentials and network scopes, document excluded segments, and establish how unmanaged devices will be handled.
- Build workflows: map procurement, receiving, assignment, transfer, repair, refresh, offboarding, lost-device, disposal, and audit processes.
- Pilot representative assets: include Windows, macOS, Linux, virtual machines, network devices, mobile devices, remote devices, cloud resources, SaaS applications, duplicates, and retired devices.
- Reconcile before automating: compare discovered data with procurement and identity records, then resolve conflicts before making automated decisions.
During a pilot, measure discovery coverage, time to a usable inventory, duplicate rate, percentage of assets with owners and serial numbers, stale-record rate, license-normalization quality, workflow completion time, API reliability, administrator effort, and report usefulness. Also test re-enrollment, agent failure, network exclusion, offboarding, data export, backup and restore, role removal, contract alerts, license reclamation, and record-retention controls.
What are the main ITAM failure modes?
- Buying a discovery tool for a governance problem: visibility does not automatically create approvals, custody, depreciation, license compliance, or disposal evidence.
- Assuming agentless discovery is universal: firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, cloud workloads, credentials, powered-off devices, and unsupported operating systems can create blind spots.
- Deploying agents without an operating plan: packaging, permissions, privacy, security-software conflicts, unsupported systems, and rarely connected devices can delay coverage.
- Over-engineering the CMDB: a CMDB is useful when relationships support incident, change, service-impact, or compliance decisions; modeling everything without ownership creates stale data.
- Confusing installed software with license compliance: application lists do not prove entitlement, usage rights, license position, or audit readiness.
- Calling open source free: self-hosted software still requires hosting, backups, upgrades, monitoring, security, custom development, and integration maintenance.
- Ignoring offboarding and disposal: assigned-device tracking is incomplete if the organization cannot prove data wiping, secure retirement, disposition, and access revocation.
- Buying another platform unnecessarily: existing Intune, Jamf, RMM, Jira, ServiceNow, or ERP capabilities may be extended through integration or consolidation.
Which ITAM software is right for an MSP?
An MSP should prioritize tenant separation, client-specific reporting, delegated administration, client portals, contract and billing support, monitoring integrations, and scalable onboarding. A product that works for one internal IT department may not support secure multi-tenancy or per-client operations.
Test whether administrators can prevent cross-tenant visibility, delegate only the required permissions, export reports by client, connect device monitoring, onboard and offboard clients efficiently, and preserve contract and billing context. Do not infer MSP suitability from a generic “multi-tenant” claim without testing the operational workflow.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between ITAM and IT inventory?
IT inventory records equipment and assignments, while ITAM governs the full lifecycle including procurement, ownership, contracts, warranties, licenses, maintenance, reassignment, retirement, disposal, and audit evidence. Inventory is therefore one component of ITAM, not a complete substitute for it.
Is Snipe-IT really free?
Self-hosted Snipe-IT software is open source, but hosting, backups, security, upgrades, monitoring, integrations, and support still require money or internal labor. Snipe-IT also offers paid hosted plans, so buyers should distinguish free self-hosted software from free hosting and support.
Do ITAM tools replace Intune or Jamf?
ITAM tools generally complement Intune, Jamf, Configuration Manager, and RMM platforms rather than replacing them. Endpoint-management products configure, patch, enforce policies, and perform remote actions, while ITAM adds ownership, procurement, lifecycle, contract, custody, and disposal context.
Do ITAM tools automatically provide software-license compliance?
No. Installed-software discovery is not the same as software-license compliance. Compliance requires normalized applications, entitlement records, license metrics, usage, product-use rights, effective-license-position calculations, reclamation, and audit reporting.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
Is a CMDB required for every ITAM program?
No. A CMDB is most valuable when relationships between users, devices, applications, services, and infrastructure support incident, change, service-impact, migration, or compliance decisions. A small team tracking laptop ownership may need a reliable inventory and lifecycle workflow before it needs a full CMDB.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: choose ServiceNow for complex enterprise governance, Flexera One for serious software-license and SaaS optimization, Lansweeper for automated discovery, Device42 for infrastructure dependencies, ManageEngine AssetExplorer or InvGate for mid-market lifecycle management, Freshservice or Jira Service Management for ITSM-plus-ITAM, and Snipe-IT, GLPI, or AssetTiger for simpler inventory needs. Run a pilot with real networks, devices, contracts, users, and workflows before signing a contract; the best ITAM platform is the one that produces trustworthy data and supports the lifecycle decisions the organization actually needs.
